Ok,the symptoms you have appear to be due to Pharyngitis
which usually is caused by simple flu virus
Such infection makes the throat prone for bacterial infections which can progress into cough and sputum
Is it recommended to take any medicine?
I shall advice you some remedies which will reduce the throat discomfort and prevent bacterial infections
Do gargle with CHLORHEXIDINE antiseptic solution twice daily after food
This will cure the infection and soothen the throat to provide comfort
Also do take steam inhalation twice daily with Eucalyptus in it
Steam also soothens the throat and provide relief
Do avoid cold and oily foods for a week from now

If the symptoms persist even after gargling for two days you can take a dose of Tab Benadryl in the night after food
