User:Hi I am 30 years old and about 8 or 9 years ago I had unexplained weight loss but i have gained weight in the last 5 years, my question is is weight loss an early or late symptom of colon cancer and i have also had dark stool with constipation but no fiber in diet with a lot of fast foods.

User:no i have not
Doctor:Was it done anytime earlier?
User:i have never had one

Doctor:It starts as an early process and is always present in cancer
Doctor:You seem to have normal weight now
Doctor:So, that rules out any presence of cancer
User:i have gained weight over the years but like i said about 8 years ago i did loose weight without any cause but since then i have gained weight through the years

User:8 years ago i lost about 10 or 15 pounds, but since then i have gained about 40 to 50 pounds and yes i was 22

User:i lost them in about a month or 2 if i am remembering right it has been a long time
User:i don't remember if i was eatting as much either

User:i don't remember if i had an illness or not it was not tyhoid though, i just was not sure if weight loss was an advanced sign of colon cancer

Doctor:Irregular bowel movements
Doctor:constipation and loose stools alternatively
User:does my weight loss from 8 years ago sound like it could have been from a cancer since i have gained weight over the years

User:i am always hungry
Doctor:Also, weight loss is an accompanying sign
Doctor:Are you able to digest the food normally?
Doctor:Do you have irregular bowel movements?
User:what do you mean
Doctor:Means to say that, do you pass motions normally?
User:sometimes i get constipated with darker stool but i eat a lot of fast foods no fruits or veggies

User:no heaviness in the chest

User:what i know by now this is from 8 or 9 years ago

User:do u usually gain weight with colon cancer
Doctor:You may go in for a routine colonoscopy too
Doctor:No, with any cancer, none gain wieght
Doctor:There is always weight loss with cancer and as also in colon cancer
User:well like i said i have been gaining weight every since 8 years ago
Doctor:You need to eat lot of fruits, vegetables and fresh fruit juices
