Doctor:How can I help you?
User:Doctor, i have got, scratch marks on my tummy after my pregnancy, what is the way to remove it other than plastic surgery...
User:My baby is 8 yrs old now...
Doctor:Stretch marks are common following pregnancy.
Doctor:This occurs as a result of tissue damage and scaring.
User:but there has to be some way to remove it, ????
Doctor:While in many they fade away and disappear in 12 to 18 months in time, they can persist in a few.
Doctor:It looks like you have a permanent one.
Doctor:In early stages, they can be treated with steroid preparations, however
Doctor:since it is already crossed 8 years,
Doctor:I cannot guarantee effective treatment with medications.
User:though my skin tone is fair & so, the visibility is very less, but still i can feel that, which i really hate...
Doctor:if you have not tried products like mederma, clearz or other hydroquinone containing products
Doctor:you may try them for a while.
Doctor:They can be helpful in some cases.
User:so, which one is most effective & which can help fast...
User:also i have extra fats on my tummy area, how can i reduce that ???
Doctor:Mederma is been widely used across the globe in the treatment of hyperpigmentation and scars.
Doctor:You may use it.
Doctor:However if this cream doesn't bring about any changes in the next 6-8 months, then it should be discontinued.
Doctor:If there is no improvement with 6-8 months of application, then I think you need to stitch on to other form of treatment which includes dermabrasion or laser correction.
Doctor:*if these stretch marks are embarrassing you.
Doctor:Are you following?
User:yes doctor...
Doctor:Regarding extra fat, may I know your current weight and height?
User:what is this treatment exactly ??
User:My height is 5.4" & weight is 56kg
Doctor:Do you mean treatment of extra fat or other form of treatment which I mentioned for stretch marks?
User:for stretch marks...
Doctor:other form of treatment which I mentioned can be with dermabrasion or laser treatment.
Doctor:Dermabrasion is a simple out patient procedure done by a dermatologist at his office.
Doctor:Here the affected skin is rubbed against a rough surface so as to cause deep exfoliation.
Doctor:This results in removal of the top hyperpigmented cells along with melanocytes revealing the below cells with less melanocytes.
Doctor:A few repeated trial will gradually help in establishing a clearer less hyperpigmented skin.
User:Is laser treatment effective, as currently im going to a skin care centre, where they are giving this laser treatments....
Doctor:Laser surgery is a procedure where laser is used to burn and destroy melanocytes.
User:though im taking that laser treamtment, but taking a tummy tucks sessions...
Doctor:Reducing the number of melanocytes reduces the melanin secretions and thus reduced pigmentation.
Doctor:Before taking up laser treatment - either for tummy tuck or hyperpigmentation, you need to understand
Doctor:that this is a cosmetic correction.
Doctor:Though almost all the time the results of the procedure is positive
Doctor:there can be some side effects too which can produce negative results which inturn may need repeat procedure.
Doctor:You need to discuss about these aspects with your treating doctor before you decide upon taking laser treatment.
User:ok.... i got your point doc....
User:thanks a lot for your help....
Doctor:You are welcome.
Doctor:Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor:Bye for now.
