Doctor :   let me read your query
User :   Hi, any suggestions
Doctor :   Constant spitting in a mentally challenged individual that is not helped by the above methods used could be due to neurological defects
User :   so he should see a neurologist
Doctor :   there might be weakness of the oral cavity or oro-pharyngeal muscles due to which he cannot swallow the saliva
Doctor :   and he needs to spit it out
Doctor :   may i know the cause of mental challenge (medical cause i mean ) ?
User :   So when he is in the community or with peers all day long, spitting , it is causing a health concern. Would a neurologist do anything to strengthen this weakness? Or re-try behavior techniques?
Doctor :   In case of down's syndrome or congenital hypothyroidism, the patients have a large tongue, due to which constant spitting is seen
