User :   my husband had dry heaves, stomach ache last night. Not able to throw up or have a bowel movement. Today he still has the stomach ache, and stomach is bloated.
Doctor :   Hi
User :   hello
Doctor :   may i know his age , please ?
User :   71
Doctor :   did he have any thing to eat yesterday ?
User :   yes. Matter of fact he had mexican food early...for lunch. Then a Lean Cuisine for dinner
Doctor :   ok, it seems that he has had indigestion and acidity, with production of excess gas in his stomach
Doctor :   give him some tums 3 tablets thrice daily
User :   what do we do for that. He is very uncomfortable
Doctor :   and activated charcoal 500 mg tablets 3 times a day
Doctor :   and prilosec 20 mg twice daily
Doctor :   these medications will reduce acidity
Doctor :   absorb all the intestinal gas and provide symptomatic relief within a few hours
User :   okay. We will do that. Would the acid have caused the dry heaves?
Doctor :   in the future, he has to watch what he is eating
Doctor :   yes
User :   Okay, thank you.
Doctor :   the acid causes discomfort and irritation
Doctor :   so acid relief with tums or maalox will help
User :   Thank you doctor.
Doctor :   you are most welcome
Doctor :   take care and bye for now
