User :   i took 2 cilest packs back to back. Started bleeding with 7 days of tablets left, the bleeding stopped for 2 days, and now I have been spotting for several days, I start cilest again on tuesday. I had problems with breakthrough bleeding for first 3 months of cilest, but it settled down til now.
Doctor :   Hi
User :   hello
Doctor :   Pls. give me few secs to go through your query.
User :   when I had spotting before, the doc prescribed norethisterone, this did stop it
User :   hello??
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   I have gone through
Doctor :   May I ask you a few questions pertaining to your problem ?
User :   yes
Doctor :   May I know since when you have been using an oral contraceptive - cilest ?
Doctor :   and have you ever experienced this probelm previously ?
User :   for 12 months. for the last 9 months it has been fine after inital settling in. just got this problem running the 2 packs
User :   i have not run 2 packs back to back before
Doctor :   Ok.
Doctor :   Do not worry
Doctor :   it usually happens when you have not give the gap and the hormonal problem shoots up .
Doctor :   but has the doctor suggested you to go ahead back to back ?
User :   do you think my GP would prescribe norethisterone again? I go on holiday and do not want to be spotting when away
User :   i took back to back to bring my withdraw bleed forward a week
Doctor :   Ok.
Doctor :   Please do not stop the medication now and continue the same , and your cycles will get better after the next menstrual bleed
User :   will my GP prescribe norethisterone to take? I go on holiday soon and dont want to be spotting whilst away
Doctor :   You should have used it as per the schedule, please do not repeat it again as it again derails your schedule
Doctor :   Your GP will not prescribe .
User :   I used norethisterone 11 months ago, I do not have any now. Wondred if GP would prescribe some to stop spotting whilst I on holiday
Doctor :   nor ethisterone to take in between the cycle , but will plan from a month ahead.
User :   I was prescribed it before in order to stop spotting...about 11 months ago
User :   I am dues to start cilest again on tuesday, after 7 day break
Doctor :   Yes , that is what i was mentioning , in a planned manner it can be given but not back to back and using norethisterone in between.
Doctor :   Ok.
Doctor :   Please start it on tuesday , but let me know till when you do not want to have a period ?
Doctor :   in the coming month ?
User :   I would like this spotting to be stopped from wed for the following 7 days.
User :   as i am on holiday
Doctor :   Ok.
Doctor :   Let me just ask you once again , because i have been a bit confused by your holidays and dates ?
User :   so i continue to take cilest as normal? but do you this my gp will prescribe norethisterone to stop this spotting while away?
User :   I took 2 packs of cilest back to back.....took last tablet last Monday, so 7 days break finishes this tuesday
User :   I had a bleed in the last week of cilest
User :   now been spotting......will start cilest agian on tues
User :   but go away wed and would like to ensure I will not be spotting whilst away on holiday
Doctor :   Ok.
Ok, I have got it , You should continue the cilest pill and start it on tuesday
Doctor :   it is better as it is a combined pill and better than nor-ethisterone only pill.
User :   I was always taking cilest when the spotting happened for the inital 3 months
Doctor :   Cilest (ethinylestradiol and norgestimate) is much better than just nor-ethisterone
User :   the doctor prescribed norethisterone to stop my spotting (I still took cilest)
User :   but wanted the spotting to stop whilst on holiday
Doctor :   Ok.But I still feel cilest is better than norethisterone.
This is my opinion as per my practise and case experience. But once spotting has started, it is a bit skeptical as when it can bleed and can vary from person to person.
Doctor :   And depends on peaking of hormonal levels in different individuals.
User :   perhaps I should explain....I always continued with cilest. But the norethisterone was prescribed in addition to take to stop spotting temporarily while my body settled on cilest
User :   for a week whilst on holiday
User :   I assume taking the pills back to back (2 cilest packs, back to back) is what has caused this spotting
