User :   hello doctor. Kindly let me know what makes my tongue develop black patches. I feel sore whenever I eat anything even though it is not hot(no chillies)

User :   thanks, I dont know but realised it only a couple of weeks back

User :   I had had checked my sugar level. It was normal a month ago, although previously it was reading 280

User :   yes, gluformin 500mg, advised by doc at St. Johns Medical three months back when the sugar level was normal

User :   a few weeks back I had developed bleeding gums, but not very severe.

User :   I had lost almost 10kgs, but in the last two months I have regained about 8kgs, after the medication, and am feeling better

Doctor :   the common treatment for black hairy tongue is simply to brush your tongue whenever you brush your teeth รข?? at least twice a day.

Doctor :   severe cases, your dentist may recommend using a tongue scraper twice a day
User :   but my tongue is just black, not hairy?????

Doctor :   Clorhexidine mouth wash solution that kills the bacteria.

Doctor :   Call your dentist if you notice any change of color in your tongue that is not caused by food (such as hard candy) and that lasts more than a few days. You also should call your dentist if you notice any changes in the texture of your tongue.
