User :   Hi
Doctor :   hello
User :   hi, i am a 21 year old woman who has been suffering a sore throat and liquid in my ears for a month and a half. i've been going to the doctor for that long, almost weekly.
User :   now, it seems as though i have green mucus, coming out instead of the regular mucus
User :   i was also dianogsed with acid reflux and was given Prilosec and i made dietery changes...i have no had any reflux for a bit now
User :   at first i thought my sore throat and sinus, ears problems were due to the reflux, but there is nothing coming up now to my throat
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   do you have any other medical problem ?
User :   no, as far as the reflux, i ll burp once or twice after eating but no more, the pain in my upper abdomen is gone
User :   and i dont feel any sort of reflux at al
User :   all
Doctor :   can you tell me what all medications are you on ?
User :   prilosec 20 mg (once a day)
User :   and clarytin d
User :   i've been on clarytin d for a month now
User :   but the sinus problems are still there and the liquid in my ears are still there
Doctor :   you went to a ENT physician >?
User :   physician. my question is if "silent reflux" might still be a possibility that is causing my ENT problems?
Doctor :   no there is absolutely no way that a silent reflux can cause your ENT problems
Doctor :   do you have any fever ?
User :   before i would get a bit of fever , but only in my head area
User :   the rest of my body was fine
User :   but itd go away pretty quickly
Doctor :   ok now from the symptoms you have told me and the characteristic ear discharge you are having, you are experiencing a ear infection
Doctor :   the source can be from the throat
Doctor :   reflux in no way is related to it
Doctor :   what your next step should be that you need to be on a antibiotic course
User :   i was on amoxicillin before
Doctor :   when was it ?
User :   and it made my symptoms worse
User :   4 weeks ago, then the physician said things were clearing up a bit
User :   but theres still liquid there
Doctor :   did you took the complete course ?
User :   she said to just take 600 mg of motrin which i did
User :   but that made my reflux bad
User :   i did take the complete course, religiously
Doctor :   ok now here are 2 things
Doctor :   1) your infection is still there ( the discharge is a give away on that )
Doctor :   2) motrin is known to have gastric irritation
Doctor :   now since ammox did not suit you its suggested that you to be put on other class of antibiotics
User :   i appmt with my physican today
User :   i will mention what we've talked about
Doctor :   yes please do so
Doctor :   also do mention
Doctor :   1) about the irritability with mortin
User :   i did, my stomach is fine now after prilosec and lifestyle changes
Doctor :   2) that you were on ammox
Doctor :   ammox is a good drug but sometimes the bugs causing infection get immune to it , so a new line of antibiotic should be started
Doctor :   dont worry i can assure you that once you are on the antibiotics you will be completely cured
User :   i see, i'm just really scared that this can be throat cancer or something. i've been miserable for almost 2 months and i just really want to get better
Doctor :   have you lost weight recently ?
Doctor :   i mean rapid loss
User :   i lost 6 lbs in 2 weeks after switching to an extermely strict diet mostly green vegetables
User :   and added exercise to my lifestyle
Doctor :   any change in your voice ?
User :   it gets hoarse at times but goes away
Doctor :   well i am glad you have been following a good diet
Doctor :   in your case i can ASSURE YOU its not cancer
User :   even with hoarse throat
Doctor :   its a infection
Doctor :   yes even with a sore throat
User :   i see
User :   that alleviates my anxiety
Doctor :   infact as i can suspect that your ear infection could be from the sore throat
Doctor :   well you have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to worry about
User :   but is it normal for the sore throat to last so long
User :   it's good some days
User :   and bad others
User :   but as of last night
User :   my throat hurt a lot
Doctor :   well the reason for that is that the antibiotic you took . DID suppress the infection but NOT fully. that is the reason
User :   i see
User :   thank you very much doctor
User :   you have truly been a great help
Doctor :   your most welcome
Doctor :   your feedback is appreciated
Doctor :   take care of yourself
User :   thank you, likewise
Doctor :   good bye
