Doctor :   Hi,
User :   hi doc
User :   or could it be viral
Doctor :   Let me read your query for few minutes to be able to have a good discussion here.
User :   ok
User :   tuesday i go to my doctor will he do a mri or take a biopsy?
User :   i type very slow
Doctor :   i got your query
Doctor :   i do not think of it being cancer unless ruled out
Doctor :   as you had tooth ache which is the commonest trigger for a bacterial parotitis
Doctor :   which do present as you describe
Doctor :   may be a right choice of antibiotic is what is needed
User :   how about acute infection yes and then a soare throat
User :   how will my doctor know whats right
Doctor :   yes , the sore throat too gives me hint about an bacterial infection
Doctor :   detailed examination of the duct of the parotid gland would have sufficed
User :   does infection make it hard to talk and swallow as well
Doctor :   yes, for sure
Doctor :   but if you are planning for MRI i would not stop you
Doctor :   get it done and rule out the cancer for safety
User :   why do you think the dentist miss it
Doctor :   but still cancer remains the last consideration to me
Doctor :   may be , the swelling of the gland has masked the duct opening , and that very common
User :   how about when it drain and i have a burning feeling in stomack
User :   like heart burn
Doctor :   i m sorry , i dont understand ? drain where and how ?
User :   and since i only taking 150mg would this cause it to get bigger some times it seems to drain some when i use a hot compress it swells up and seems to go down sometimes
User :   and sometimes the skin on out side is redish
Doctor :   yes, may due to inappropriate antibiotics the infection is not subsided, either swelling leading to retention of secretions or may be pus built up
Doctor :   the redish skin is the sign of inflammation which occurs in infections
User :   but thier feels like a mass thier the dentist said
Doctor :   and yes, i agree with the stomach burning with the drain it does happen
User :   i thoght it was just the gland under the skin
Doctor :   mass could be a swelling or even a tumor unless prooved by the scan
User :   the mass imean
Doctor :   ya, id you have weight loss or appetite loss in last 4 months ?
Doctor :   did*
User :   no just hard to eat and swallow
Doctor :   ok, cancer will surely result in severe weight loss may upto 10% in 4 to 5 months
User :   maybe 1 or 2 pounds
Doctor :   1 or 2 lbs is not a problem
User :   how complcated is the sugery for a benine tumor?
User :   or cist
Doctor :   depends on the type of the cancer
Doctor :   cyst .. excision is the cure
Doctor :   simple cyst excision
User :   it is verl large could that still be infection
Doctor :   yes
