User :   I have a mysterious skin problem.

User :   I have skin pain on my upper thighs on occasion
User :   there is no redness or sweling or any other symptoms

User :   but its very painful...and spreads
User :   it lasts a couple days and goes away
User :   i used to get it on my forearms...but now only on my thighs

User :   i have one now that is on the front of my thigh and i couldn't sleep all night.. no it is not cyclic
User :   there is no rhyme or reason
User :   never told a doctor, and the only other person i know who experienced this is one of my daughters

User :   i tried hot wash cloths which probably just sidetracks my brain

User :   i have some Penetrex cream I used, it doesn't help too much
User :   its wonderful stuff for bones and bruises
User :   well, i currently only work part time, and have no medical insurance

User :   or swollen
User :   but it HURTS...and it hurts even when i don't touch it...worse if i DO touch it

User :   i am a prettty healthy person actually

User :   well, it can start out as big as my palm..and spread
User :   usually in a somewhat circular fashion, rather than a line
User :   i have some back problem in my lower back, but this started years before that
Doctor :   i am of the opinion that this pain can be helped by using Capsaicin cream
User :   i would get a small area on my forearm at times...
User :   my daughter gets this still
Doctor :   and some tricyclic medicines
User :   do I buy it in the store?
Doctor :   capsaicin cream can be bought in the store
Doctor :   the other one is a prescription medicine
Doctor :   and u need your doctors prescription

User :   I don't have a doctor

User :   i had such a horrible experience with a doctor from when I had insurance, that i haven't been to one since

User :   i have a friend who is a doctor, he might rx it for me if you tell me what kind

User :   he is a geriatric physician
Doctor :   No its not vicodin
User :   okay, i can look it up and talk to him, he is just very hard to get ahold of...
User :   how many years have you been practicing medicine and what is your specialty?
Doctor :   the name of the medicine is Imipramine
Doctor :   10 years, and Internal Medicine
User :   This thing is so weird and rare, that is why I have never been to the doctor for it
User :   well, have you ever heard of anything like this??
User :   and if you do would you let me know?? haha

Doctor :   yes, pain can be atypical in many patients
Doctor :   and there are methods to treat atypical pain
User :   is there a generic for this tricyclic drug?
