User :   I have one copy of the Factor 5 Mutation and currently take one baby aspirin a day as a precautionary measure per my doctor. I also smoke and am about 75 lbs overweight. What concerns should I have or be aware of with this condition and taking the HCG diet? I have read that one of the side effects is blood clotting and although I have never had issues even having 4 successful natural pregnancies, I can't help but think they put almost every imaginable side effect on prescriptions and others medical solutions as precautionary measures. I have had also one miscarriage about 10 yrs ago and one ectopic pregnancy 20 yrs ago. I am only telling you this because the HCG hormone is used typically for fertility purposes.
Doctor :   Hello.
Doctor :   let me read your query?
User :   hello
User :   ok
User :   are you there or have any questions?
Doctor :   Yes.
User :   this is my first time using this service so I am not sure how long before i get some interaction, therefore, just checking to make sure it isn't something that is computer operated
Doctor :   Why are you taking a hcg diet?
User :   I need to loose about 75 lbs and have tried everything from Weight Watchers to Alli and starving, which isn't good. My friend is doing it right now and has lost a significant amount of weight in a short time. All of my weight is in the belly which I realize that is more dangerous for your heart health.
Doctor :   Yes.
User :   With being a smoker and factor 5, my primary dr has explained that I need to loose weight and quit smoking.
Doctor :   Ok.
User :   Quiting smoking is harder than I thought and I figured that if I could drop some weight I could get back into exercising easier which in return will help with the quiting of smoking.
User :   right now exercising is a struggle because of two factors, the weight and smoking
Doctor :   Ok.
Doctor :   there are no clinical trials that support the benefits of hCG hormone.
Doctor :   or it side effects .
User :   no support of benefits in weight loss or for fertility purposes
User :   are you familiar with factor 5 mutation?
Doctor :   weight loss purpose.
User :   yes, I am aware of that. that is why i came to this source to see if there might be some more information. my primary dr does not know anything about hcg
Doctor :   Even i'm not fully aware of this kind of weight loss.
Doctor :   program.
User :   one of the recommendations from my dr regarding the factor 5 mutation was that I avoid any hormone therapy primarily going through menapause.
Doctor :   Ok.
Doctor :   That would be for other hormone.
User :   since hcg is a hormone, or at least I thought it was, is it a hormone that I have to be cautious about having one copy of the factor 5 mutation?
Doctor :   I'm afraid i will not be able to answer you question.
Doctor :   you will have to consult a genetic specialist.
User :   a genetic specialist will be able to address this question because factor 5 is a genetic disorder? I am just trying to better understand.
Doctor :   Or doctor with good knowledge of HCG diet program.
User :   there are not very many out there as this is new to the US, big in Europe, but new to the US and has not been approved by the FDA for weight loss only for fertility purposes
Doctor :   You are right.
User :   do you or any of the other panel of dr's know of any one in your profession that might be a good resource outside healthcare magic?
Doctor :   No.
User :   ok, I guess I will try and contact a genetic specialist as my next line of defense. thank you for your time.
Doctor :   Is there any thing else i can help you with?
User :   no, I don't think so, thanks
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting
Doctor :   bye for now.
User :   bye now
