User:Good evening
Please proceed with your query
User:Doctor..if you remember I had discussed about my mother;s cancer follow up scan yesterday
User:in XXXXXXX the doctor used to do a CT scan and chest x-ray
Doctor:I see
User:whereas in goa the tata hospital is suggesting an MRI and a blood test
Doctor:you are in Goa currently
Doctor:who will be seeing the scans?
Doctor:As in who is the oncologist following her case?
User:the oncologist whom we consulted from start is in XXXXXXX
Doctor:And what do THEY say?
User:but since my father is operated and we are in goa we are have just consulted a doctor in goa..who is visiting from tata hospital XXXXXXX
Doctor:Thats fine
Doctor:but what did the original Oncologist order?
User:we have not got in tpuch with the oncologist here
User:we have shown the entire history of my mother's papers to the doc in goa
User:after seeing that he suggested MRI and blood test
Doctor:Ok, well Personally.. I think the MRI and X-ray is a better test
User:and he is saying MRI is much clearer then ct scan
Doctor:That much he is correct about
User:and if all is fine then after 6 Monthe too we can do a follow up scan again
Doctor:That is the standard follow-up time
User:here in XXXXXXX they had asked us to do every 4 months
User:and already its been 5 months now
User:he is saying MRI and a blood test
Doctor:Well, see there is nothing written in stone. Each doctor will have professional habits and reasons
Doctor:But 6 months is standard in my experience and MRI detects cancer better than CT or X-rays
User:then do you suggest we should go ahead with mri
Doctor:If she were MY patient... I would recommend an MRI
User:ok..then we will go ahead for the MRI
User:thank you
Doctor:Thanks for visiting me here. Bye for now.
