User :   had a hysterectomy last dec. on no medication afterwards. In March had flu like symtoms lasting several days. In August it was more severe. Couldnt keep food down, nausea, dizziness, stomach and head pains. Had a T.I.A. Now on an Aspirin daily. Was hospitilised overnight with symtoms. Now had blood tests which were all clear, and scans showing nothing. Its now Dec, and the sickness has started again. I was perefectly healthy before hysterectomy
Doctor :   Hi

Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   may i know the reason for hysterectomy ?
User :   unsure, just standard i think. my mum is now back to sleep, its son here
User :   wasnt for anything sinister
Doctor :   For your information hysterectomy, does not cause any of the symptoms you have mentioned
User :   doctor put it down to viral
User :   but concerned as this only happened after hysterectomy
Doctor :   this could be due to age related reduced immune status, which can cause seasonal flu
Doctor :   that is just incidental
Doctor :   you might have got the same even without the surgery
User :   it seems very serious flu
User :   and this cant go on every 3 months
Doctor :   have you taken the flu vaccines before ?
User :   no never offered them
User :   what would cause the TA
User :   TIA
Doctor :   I would advice you to get a allergy test done to rule out seasonal allergies , A Paranasal xRAY to rule out sinus issues
User :   would that cause mum to keep vomiting every time she eats
Doctor :   TIA ,is due to high BP, and has also nothing to do with the surgery
Doctor :   nausea could be due to many reasons including any obstruction in the pharynx, etc
User :   we are concerned incase it is something more sinister which hasnt been discovered
User :   would blood tests not sure some abnormality if she was so sick, her doctore said they were normal
Doctor :   a flu vaccinattion done yearly, can help the recurrent flu
User :   not sure if it is the flu, i just said it seems like the flu
Doctor :   yes, they do, but viral flu will show up as nonspecific findings
User :   she cant keep food down, is drinking dyorolite to keep hydrated, dizziness, fatigure, is basically bed ridden ,to weak to talk
Doctor :   most flu cases are not 100% diagnosed
Doctor :   and most die down with symptomatic therapy
Doctor :   i mean subside
User :   could it be hormonal, she is not on any medication after hysterectomy, doc said it wasnt necesary due to age
Doctor :   no medication is needed
Doctor :   its not hormonal either
User :   ok
User :   should we ask for an endoscopy
Doctor :   in case she had recurrent upper resp infections, then prophylactic antihistamines and symptomatic therapy as in clarinex or claritin will help
Doctor :   Are u a smoker ?
User :   no
User :   nor a drinker
Doctor :   in that case, the chances of cancer lung are less
User :   should they not test for that
Doctor :   If u mean a GI endoscopy, you can undergo one, if u have loss of appetite,
Doctor :   weight loss,
User :   would blood tests show any cancer
Doctor :   bleeding from stomach, severe pain, etc
User :   yes she lost over a stone in august due to this sickness
Doctor :   yes specific tests can be done if some cancers are suspected
Doctor :   acute illness can cause a slight weight loss due to stress
User :   ok
User :   she has a nurse check up 2mrw just to check blood pressure, should we express our concerns
Doctor :   weight loss of 10% over 3-6 months is serious and can be due to chronic conditions as in cancer
Doctor :   yes u can definitely do so
Doctor :   and get your concerns addressed accordingly
User :   ok
User :   thanks
Doctor :   Is there any thing else i can help u with
Doctor :   thank you and take care
