Doctor:How are you doing?
User:My wife has ringworm on her arms. Which medicine should be used?
User:Its been there for 2 days
Doctor:Has it been diagnosed as ring worm by someone?
User:no... it looks like one
User:there are red raised itchy patches with defined edges
Doctor:What about the centre?
User:so it should be ringworm
User:the center is red in color
Doctor:Does it have the same raised red patches?
Doctor:What is the shape of the lesion?
User:one of them is slighly oval
Doctor:Given the fact, that she has the same patches in the centre, it is unlikely it is ring worm
Doctor:ringworm patches generally have normal skin tone in the centre
Doctor:Its possibly an allergy
Doctor:with some infection
Doctor:She can take tablet cetrizine 10 mg once daily
Doctor:This will reduce itching
Doctor:actually, diphenhydramine is much better for reducing the itching
Doctor:But its a prescription drug and I cannot give it in this forum
Doctor:Next is ABZORB powder
Doctor:She'll have to use it 3-4 times a day on that area
Doctor:Calamine lotion will also help
Doctor:Keep the area clean and dry
Doctor:and she should avoid touching the area
User:will take care
Doctor:It might be infectious
User:Thanks XXXXXXX for the help!!
Doctor:Is there any other concern I can address?
User:no... thanks!!
Doctor:Thanks for consulting me
Doctor:Take care
