User :   Hi, I had a question about birth control. Two weeks ago I was taking antibiotics duo to sinus infection and I was taking contraception pills at the same time. I finished the antibiotics a week ago and continued taking the contraception pill for a week before a came on my period. I had unprotected sex a day after my period. Would I be safe from pregnancy?
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   let me read your query
Doctor :   may i know which antibiotic had you taken ?
Doctor :   and have you got your periods ?
Doctor :   if you had sex after your periods, then there is no problem and you will not have any pregnancy
User :   not sure of the antibiotic that i took. i just finished my period.
Doctor :   did the period come at regular timing? or was it delayed ?
User :   regular
User :   a day early
Doctor :   then its fine
Doctor :   no problem at all
Doctor :   no need to worry about pregnancy
Doctor :   you will not be pregnant as you had sex in the safe periods of your cycle
User :   so why do people say that is never safe to have unprotected sex at any time?
Doctor :   sex from day 1 to day 10 of the cycle and day 20-28 of the cycle is safe
Doctor :   if you have multiple partners , then unprotected sex can cause STDs and infections including HIV , and protection is important
Doctor :   if you ahve a single sexual partner, as in a marriage, there is no need of any protection
User :   no just one doctor
Doctor :   and sex in the safe period , does not need condums
Doctor :   sex from day 10 to day 18 of the cycle is the fertile period
User :   ok thank you very much
Doctor :   and can result in pregnancy, if you have unprotected sex, during that time,
Doctor :   and also when you are not on contraceptive pills at that time
User :   are you a real doctor?
Doctor :   Why do u have any doubts ?
User :   because this can be any one? right
Doctor :   but do you think anyone can give you medically correct and sound advice ?
User :   no but you spelt condom wrong
Doctor :   it was a typing error ,
Doctor :   but do u want to spell check all the words ?
User :   not really
Doctor :   or do u want to get the medical facts right ?
User :   medical facts... thank you for your time
Doctor :   you are most welcome
User :   have a good night
Doctor :   take care
User :   bye.
