Doctor :   hi
Doctor :   how can I help you?
User :   Hi doctor
User :   Need ur advise on something
Doctor :   plz continue with your query
User :   My mother is currently on dialysis, She is basically CRF stage V
User :   she is currently undergoing dialysis thrice a week
Doctor :   ok
User :   her current creatinne levels are round about 5+
Doctor :   ok
User :   I would just like to know whether instead of thrice a week can we have the dialysis only twice a week
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   i will help you in this
Doctor :   can i ask few relevant questions
User :   sure
Doctor :   what is her age?
User :   she is 63
Doctor :   Any history of Allergies/ Diabetes/ High Blood pressure/ Thyroid/ Heart disease/Asthma/ paralysis /Breathing problems
User :   yes she had been a diabetic for the past 30 years
Doctor :   ok
User :   in 1996-97 she was operated on her right leg anke
User :   as she had developed pus inside it
Doctor :   Ok
User :   since then she was on insulin
Doctor :   Ok
User :   however from 2007 onwards when her creatinine level was 8.5 the doctor told us to shift on dialysis
Doctor :   Ok

User :   and from then onwards it has been thrice a week
User :   however in between her creatinine levels had come down to 4.5 levels
User :   hence can the number of dialysis brought down to 2 per week
User :   instead of the current 3
Doctor :   Look Dialysis is what is done by normal functioning kidneys are done
User :   correct

Doctor :   the creatinine levels is not the only factor that determines the person's dialysis frequency
Doctor :   There are few better reasons too
Doctor :   Dialysis is good if done as frequently as possible
User :   no other alternative for this doctore
Doctor :   In fact I would put across this way, The person feels good, Dialysis is the longer the better, the slower the better, more often the better, the gentler the better.
User :   as both physically and financially it is taking a toll on us
Doctor :   The other option is going for CAPD
Doctor :   Peritoneal dialysis
Doctor :   which can be done at home
Doctor :   You can ask your nephrologist if your mother
Doctor :   is suitable for it
User :   CAPD but i am worried about the hygiene factor and also it is that its more expensive the hemodailysis

Doctor :   It is simple
Doctor :   Initially it is expensive but on a long run it is useful
Doctor :   and simple
User :   what about the hygiene aspect in that
Doctor :   At least you are not drained out physically
Doctor :   It is not as difficult as you think it might be
Doctor :   Did you consider the Renal transplant
Doctor :   (kidney transplant ) as another option
User :   but for a transplant how do i get a donor as her blood group is also rare that is o-ve

User :   and her age factor is also a concern

Doctor :   ok did you speak to the nephrologist on this issue

Doctor :   of transplant
User :   yes, like i told u that we dont have a donor
User :   and dont know how to get one
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   In your case I suggest you to continue with the dialysis
User :   thrice a week u mean
Doctor :   the number of dialysis is better decided by the doctor
User :   ok
Doctor :   as it is usually recommended as frequently as possible
User :   ok, In other words there is no end to it and we shall have to continue with thrice a week is it
Doctor :   She is still in her early 60's
Doctor :   Ok, I shall do one thing if we have some details about the organ donation
Doctor :   ie if a person with kidney donation with O -ve
Doctor :   blood group
Doctor :   We shall inform you
User :   would be really grateful, if you could do that

Doctor :   I also suggest you to register for all the organ donation trusts
User :   do i need to register seperately for that doctor
Doctor :   We can find out if there are some organ donation trusts that are working on it
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Did you follow?
User :   yes

Doctor :   Do not worry
Doctor :   We shall help you in whatever way we can
User :   wat u r trying to tell me is the trusts which are involved in organ donation is it
Doctor :   yes
User :   thanks doctor
Doctor :   That is the way you can increase the chances
Doctor :   of finding
Doctor :   the best suitable donor
Doctor :   Ok?
User :   ok
User :   thanks a lot for ur assistance
Doctor :   Do not lose hope
Doctor :   Is there anything else that I can help you with?
