Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   Dr XXX here
Doctor :   How can i help you?
User :   I've been under tremendous stress of a new job for the last 2 weeks and I've developed a mild red ring around my anus. It's not painful...more like slightly sensitive when wiping or a very mild burning sensation. I've been putting lotion on the area. Any other suggestions?
Doctor :   Since when are you having this ring? Is there any pain, burning, itching or discharge? Are your bowel movements normal?
User :   I've had it for about 2 weeks...there's no pain...mild sensitivity when wiping...I'm having at least 2 bowel movements per day...but may be constipated occasionally...never had hemorrhoids either...
Doctor :   May i know your age? Also are you on any medications?
User :   I'm 42...have been taking advil for a sprained back muscle, but stopped Sunday...take regular men's vitamin...
Doctor :   It seems like an infection or allergy or can be rectal inflammation due to constipation.
Doctor :   1)You can apply Preparation H ointment on the area twice a day.
Doctor :   2)Also take Sitz bath thrice a day.In this you have to emerge your buttocks in the warm water for about 15 minutes.
Doctor :   3)Have plenty of fruits and fibre in diet.
Doctor :   4)Avoid any kind of straining during stool
Doctor :   5)Do not take alcohol, smoke and any form of stress.
Doctor :   6)Daily go for a walk or do exercise.
User :   It seems better but just not cleared up...I've tried to decrease stress...don't smoke...only occasionally drink...
Doctor :   Take Sitz bath and ointment, it will reduce the inflammation
User :   thank you
Doctor :   If all these things do not help you at all in about 5 to 7 days then you need to get it examined by GP who may use recto scope to see the exact cause
Doctor :   Have you followed what i have said?
User :   Yes, thanks
Doctor :   Is there anything else you would like to know?
User :   No thanks
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me, bye for now
Doctor :   Wishing you good health.
