Doctor :   Were you treated in the hospital for pneumonia?
User :   Yes
Doctor :   How long was the course of antibiotics? Are they oral or injections?
User :   First week was iv and then sent home with them for 2 more weeks
Doctor :   What is your profession?
User :   Im a housewife
Doctor :   Do you have any other conditions like Diabetes, asthma, bronchitis etc?
Doctor :   I mean any other conditions that can delay the recovery
Doctor :   like smoking, chemo, heart disease etc
Doctor :   Can you share the details of the diagnosis like complications, how many lobes involved?
User :   Just low iron, dont smoke, been around 2nd hand smoke alot growing up
User :   Only the right lobe.
User :   sorry i meant left
Doctor :   Well if you are a persion with no co morbid conditions and with only single lobe involvement it should not take more than 3 weeks to recover.
Doctor :   Since you were hospitalized and treated outpatient for two weeks, specific symptom resolution and functional recovery requires more than 30 days
Doctor :   Your doctor would have advised you to follow up with Chest Xray for next 6 weeks
Doctor :   Did you follow?
User :   He did. He saw it was still there, and ordered a ct
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Was he not happy with your recovery clinically? Were the Xray's not showing features of resolution?
Doctor :   Clinical recovery is symptom resolution
User :   He was happy about the clinically recover just not the xray
Doctor :   Ok that is important
Doctor :   Ok, I am clinician who would be bothered about the clinical improvement rather than the radiological parametres
Doctor :   My best advice for you is simple: 1) Good sleep 2) Good hydration 3) Proper diet 4) Hygiene
User :   ok, thank you. when should i start to feel better
Doctor :   Next 2 weeks
Doctor :   is going to be important for your recovery
Doctor :   Did you follow?
User :   yes, if i dont feel better in a couple of weeks, just go back to my doc
Doctor :   CT scan should be taken, I hope you completed the complete course of antibiotics
Doctor :   Hope for a faster recovery
User :   I completed all the medicene. I just feel like something is not right with my body, im so weak and tired and hurt
Doctor :   That takes some time
Doctor :   as I told you
Doctor :   Pneumonia is a serious infection though medical science is far developed to treat it easily, the recovery takes time
User :   My doc already did the ct scan and it still showed pneumonia
Doctor :   Pneumonia has stages, I wanted to know the stage of it
User :   I dont know what stage its at, all i know is i feel like bad
Doctor :   Clinical improvement happens in stage of resolution
User :   I dont have fever or cough anymore, just pain in upper back and chest, and tired alot
Doctor :   Ok, that good to know that the main symptoms are gone
Doctor :   Chest pain and tiredness can take some time
Doctor :   So you can expect 2 more weeks by following the above advice
User :   ok. thank you
Doctor :   Do you have any more questions?
User :   then if i dont feel any better in a couple of weeks, just go back to my doctor then right?
