User :   for last week i have been having night sweats
User :   what could be wrong
Doctor :   apart from night sweats what other symptoms you have ?
User :   i have swelling of ankles and seeing a cardiologist this week........i have edema...........i may have congest ive heart failure not sure
User :   could it be related to that
Doctor :   do you have difficulty in breathing ?
User :   not at all
Doctor :   are you able to walk for a long distance with out getting shortness of breath ?
User :   what about this male menopause i read about...........andropause is that a shortness of breath
User :   i can walk okay
User :   i do have chronic lung disease though
User :   i been told
User :   but i breathe fine
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   the most common cause for the night sweats is idiopathic hyperhidrosis
User :   okay
User :   and how long does it last
Doctor :   idiopathic means no cause
Doctor :   also as you said it may occur in andropause also
User :   i am concerned because twice i had it before ...........ten years ago under alot of stress..........4 years ago when i had kidney cancer..............
User :   i am just worried abut the cancer
User :   but i have n o blood in urine
Doctor :   since you have chronic lung disease and now coming up with the ankle and feet swelling the night sweats may be related to this
User :   no weight loss
User :   when i had kidney cancer and was sweating was that due to the cancer do you think
User :   4 years ago
User :   i was drenched in sweat
User :   but i was a nerous wreck too
Doctor :   yes cancer can produce night sweats
User :   but just night sweat..................only symptom...............hard to think that could be kidney cancer
User :   no blood in urine
User :   renal test was fine on blood test
User :   i been nervous lately
User :   maybe just nerves
Doctor :   there are many conditions which produce night sweats
Doctor :   cancer is one of them
Doctor :   and night sweats is never an isolated symptom
User :   lymphona is most likely though from what i read
User :   well it could be menopause or nerves...............that could make it isolated perhaps
User :   i have only one kidney now...........another case of cancer thats it for me i think
User :   but again reanal tests are fine
Doctor :   well if carefully evaluated you will have some other symptom for which night sweats can be attributed to
Doctor :   renal tests are normal than why do you think of the cancer now?
User :   because i went through it before
User :   i was drenched in sweat before the operation
Doctor :   you have nervousness that is also the cause for the sweats
User :   but i had blood in urine that whole time
User :   i think
User :   no blood now in urine
Doctor :   do you have blood now in the urine ?
User :   no thank god
User :   and i have 3 test done
User :   in last year for urine
Doctor :   than why do you attribute the swats to kidney cancer again
User :   no blood
User :   just nerves doctor
User :   cause i had it before when i had the cancer l ike i said 4 years ago
User :   just worried its repeating
Doctor :   need not be nervous with out any cause
User :   okay
Doctor :   even appendicitis or an absecss can cause night sweats
Doctor :   it doesent mean when ever you have a swat you think that you have all the disease
Doctor :   since you have lung disease and now there is swelling of the feet and ankle you need to concentrate on that
User :   i know
User :   sound like heart failure
Doctor :   as you think it might be the sign of congestive heart dysfunction
User :   which can be treated and i can live normal life from what i read
Doctor :   yes you are right
User :   smoking and drinking makes all that worse i know
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   The information on the net is not a substitute to medical knowledge
Doctor :   you need not get panic by reading what is on the net
User :   okay
User :   just trying to find a balance and not worry because when i get up in a sweat in night it make me nervous
User :   it farily common from what i read
User :   so it could be idiopathic
Doctor :   and also as a result of your nervousness
User :   yes your right
Doctor :   as it is not a symptom which attracts medical attention or it is not a sign of any serious disease need not concentrate on the sweats
User :   when i had the sweats during kidney you think it was direct result of that
User :   or maybemy nerves at the times before
Doctor :   yes
User :   okay
Doctor :   it is the result of the cancer
User :   okay
User :   do you think i should get ultrasound of my pelvis
User :   area
User :   for tumors
Doctor :   is night sweat an indication for somebody to undergo investigation for tumor ?
User :   no maybenot doctor
User :   your right i should not worry about it as much as i do
User :   just net stuff i read

User :   okay
User :   you make me feel better
User :   i go in on tuesday to cardiologist
User :   for ekg
Doctor :   you need to see the physician or cardiologist for the ankle and feet swelling
Doctor :   that is all you need to be concerned now
User :   cardiolist
