Doctor :   hi
User :   hello there
User :   Hello I noticed this tingly feeling in my left hand a couple of days ago, on Tuesday night, after I sat in my car. Then part of my arm, not all of it, felt like if it was being squeezed, almost like when you wear a jacket that is too tight, your arms feel funny.
User :   I'm a graphic designer, and work on the computer a lot and I constantly use my computer at home.
User :   When I do something else, I don't feel anything, but when I sit down and I remember it, then I start to feel a little tingly.
User :   It feels like if I had rubbed icy hot on my hands. I looked it up online and could be related to carpal tunnel, but I'm just paranoid because every time you hear "tingly and numbness on left arm and hand" you think of a heart attack right away. I wanted to make an appointment with my doctor but their offices had already closed.
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   how long have u had these symptoms /
User :   it started tuesday night
User :   i've been under a lot of stress lately, and have a lot of work
User :   trying to get back to school as well
Doctor :   do u have any pain in the affected pert of your arm ?
User :   not really no
User :   ocassionally it feels like if i had rubbed icy hot on it
Doctor :   so u have only numbness, tingling, altered sensation ?
User :   i wouldnt say numbness but tingling a little bit
User :   i dont feel needles, more like icy hot
Doctor :   do u feel that u cannot use them properly for working or any daily activities like eating food , etc ?
User :   i can use them properly everything works
User :   i was just paranoid about a heart attack
Doctor :   you may be having some form of sensory neuropathy due to pressure on any nerve
Doctor :   this is not anything like a heart attack at all
Doctor :   u need to see neurologist for additional evaluation and diagnosis
User :   ok I am back, my payment was going through
Doctor :   ok that is fine
User :   yeah it was weird, ok im more relieved that is not a heart attack
Doctor :   your history and symptoms do not seem to be due to heart attack
User :   because you associate left arm tingly or tingle in the hands and you think of a heart attack right away
Doctor :   it seems more likely to be a form of sensory neuropathy
User :   another thing i found online was related to carpal tunnel syndrome
User :   what do you think?
User :   im a graphic designer
Doctor :   i understand your anziety
User :   im on the computer a lot, even at home
Doctor :   yes it could be CTS
Doctor :   but other reversible causes of such problem should be ruled out before confirming it as Carpal tunnel syndrome CTS
User :   yeah
User :   i dont know if when i got in the car on tuesday, while getting in i pulled something maybe? i didnt feel any pain or discomfort, but as i was sitting there, i felt the tingly feeling
User :   like if my coat was too tight on the sleeves and was cutting circulation
User :   when i woke up this morning i didnt have any problems, until i started thinking about it, then i would feel the sensation
User :   it feels in the palm and sometimes all fingers
User :   but it doesnt feel like needles, like when you sit indian style for a really long time and then you get up, and you feel needles
Doctor :   i understand the symptoms
User :   thumb i think, i cant really pinpoint exactly which fingers are bothering me
User :   do you think i may have pinched a nerve while i got in the car, maybe i did something wrong?
User :   theres no pain, just the icy hot feel, its mild
Doctor :   in that case you may be having CTS or radial nerve entrapment syndrome
Doctor :   you might be helped by a examination by a neurologist or ur GP
Doctor :   Initial therapy will be rest and physiotherapy and use of hand splints
Doctor :   to relieve the symptoms
Doctor :   in severe cases, surgery to relieve the pressure on the nerve might be needed
User :   so a good thing would be to rest too, ill have to speak to my supervisors about this
User :   because i have a lot of computer ahead of me in the next couple of weeks
User :   im sure this will enventually turn into pain
Doctor :   yes rest will be the bestgesta form of therapy in initial s
Doctor :   i meant best form of treatment
Doctor :   in initial stages
User :   great. thanks alot for your help, i really wanted to hear a professional opinion, to at least rule out a heart attack thoughts.
Doctor :   u r welcome
