User :   aand what u mean swelling in the limbs
Doctor :   I mean edema/swelling in your feet/legs?
User :   not th i can tell
Doctor :   Let me explain to you.
User :   why whats wrong with me
User :   scared
Doctor :   Sudden onset of gum swelling occurs due to dental problem, a dental caries/ gingivitis
Doctor :   It is usually an infective problem.
Doctor :   This can be easily managed by appropriate antibiotics, antiinflammatory drugs.
User :   could the dentist get the swelling out via squzzng it
User :   could i get a heart infection from this
Doctor :   The swelling is probably because of inflammation and with antiinflammatory drugs and good antibiotics, swelling will come down.
Doctor :   Since you don't have fever/pain, it doesn't seem serious now.
User :   why would it be swelling so bad still
User :   its a big big swelling
Doctor :   I can understand that, but as suggested with medications, that will come down.
Doctor :   I would suggest you to see a dentist as soon as possible.
Doctor :   In the mean time, you can use antiinflammatory medication such as tylenol pain relief or ibuprofen 400mg twice a day after your meal.
User :   why is it keeping on swelling
Doctor :   Since the common cause is an infection, as long as the infection persist, inflammation will increase.
Doctor :   This explains the increase in size of the swelling.
Doctor :   hence see a dentist and avail antibiotics for its treatment.
Doctor :   Seeing a dentist early will prevent complications such as dental abscess for happening.
Doctor :   And regarding your chest pain,
User :   so the dentist wont try and do anything with thesweeling with his dentist tools
User :   i wont get a heart infection as i did have pain i chest
User :   what can happen with dental abseece\
Doctor :   Mitral regurgitation usually causes symptoms of breathelessness which increases with exertion, and swelling of the feet, which you don't have.
User :   so so scared
User :   what happens if i have a abcess on the swollon gum
Doctor :   Heart infections are possible if you have an implant in the mitral valve, or if the cause of mitral valve reguritation is infective endocarditiis.
User :   what you mean
Doctor :   With appropriate antibiotics/penicillin medications, heart infections can be avoided.
Doctor :   Dentist will suggest you those to you.
Doctor :   Hence with appropriate antibiotics, you can avoid both heart infections and dental abscess.
Doctor :   And so see a dentist as soon as possible.
Doctor :   Have you followed what I have suggested?
User :   could i get a geart infection with my mitral heart valve problem
User :   and how would i know if i have a abesses there o the gum
Doctor :   Like I mentioned earlier, the chances of heart infection following a dental problems are more if you have been operated for Mitral valve/have an implants in your heart/have a pacemaker in your heart/or
Doctor :   the duration of infection is prolonged.
Doctor :   The chances of a heart infection is low with simple grade 1-2 mitral reguritation and
Doctor :   with early antibiotics, the chances are almost nil.
Doctor :   Symptoms of dental abscess are severe pain
User :   is mine 1-2 out of 4
Doctor :   redness,
Doctor :   fever,
User :   i have pain in my gum i had trouble sleeping and waking up on and off
User :   its red
Doctor :   Fever is usually a high grade one with temperature soring more than 100 deg F.
Doctor :   Fever is accompanied with chills and shivering.
User :   oh ok
User :   dont have that yet
Doctor :   Presence of this kind of fever is often the differentiating symptoms
Doctor :   differentiating between a dental inflammation from
Doctor :   dental abscess.
Doctor :   And so do not worry much.
Doctor :   The chances that you having a dental abscess or a heart infection are most unlikely.
Doctor :   See a dentist as soon as possible though.
User :   why see dentist asap
User :   could it kill e
Doctor :   You can start the use of OTC antiinflammatory drugs such as tylenol pain relief or Ibuprofen 200mg twice daily for 2-3 days.
Doctor :   Since antibiotics are prescription medications and can't be suggested online,
Doctor :   I advice you to see a dentist, if not a general practitioner to avail the antibiotics.
Doctor :   use of antibiotics early can help in faster recovery as well as prevent dental abscess from happening.
Doctor :   Hope it is clear now.
Doctor :   My suggestion to see a doctor early is only to help you avail the prescription early, and not because your symptom is a grave concern.
Doctor :   So need not worry.
Doctor :   Have you followed what I have suggested?
User :   u sure
User :   worried as very very very swollon
Doctor :   Since you don't have fever, as I had explained, there are remote chances that you are having an heart infection or a dental abscess.
Doctor :   With early medications, you should be feeling better in a few days.
Doctor :   So consult a doctor to avail the medications.
Doctor :   Have you followed?
User :   yes
Doctor :   Do you have any other query?
User :   and another question
User :   i recently stopped movox like 5 days ago as thy were not working for me and when i am at work now it like my brain is slow at catching up with e as if i look up and then it takes like 3 secs for my brain to catch up and whys hat
Doctor :   Do you have dizziness, easy tirednesss, nausea, headaches?
User :   i have dizzieness
User :   i felt i couldnt sleep last nite from my tooth
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Since how long were you on movox?
User :   i was only on it 4 weeks
Doctor :   It seems you have moved out of the chat window. Please log in back if you have medical queries
Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   Welcome again.
User :   i was o 50mgs of movox for 10 days then went to 100 mgs
User :   its like my brain aint keeping up with me
Doctor :   Mood changes are one of the features that can happen following movox withdrawl.
Doctor :   Such changes usually disappear over a few days.
User :   and also wih my tooth i am getting the soreness feeling in the cheeks is that normal
Doctor :   Since you don't have any other significant withdrawl symptoms,
Doctor :   I expect that these symptoms too should disappear in a few days.
User :   what symptoms
Doctor :   I mean the dizziness, feeling that brain is taking time to react and so on.
User :   i have been off the meds like 6 days or so
Doctor :   To put across in simple terms, since you report the symptoms following withdrawl of the drug,
Doctor :   such symptoms usually fade away gradually over a period of 5-10 days.
User :   so could the movox give me longterm problems of just stoppng and going cold turkery
Doctor :   Apart from drug withdrawl, increase in stress, reduced sleeping, lack of good nutrition are few other factors, that can contribute to your symptoms.
User :   i feel i am going to pass out and is that the brain not keeping up with me when i am at work
Doctor :   Since it almost close to a week now, and you don't have major withdrawl symptoms, the chances that you will have a serious/long term effects are very less.
Doctor :   Moreover, such serious withdrawl symptoms are seen when the medications are used for a longer period of time(more than 12 - 36 weeks)
User :   oh ok
Doctor :   Short term use rarely cause withdrawl effects.
Doctor :   And in addition, usually most of the withdrawl symptoms start fading away in a week to 10 days time.
Doctor :   and its very rare that such symptoms last for more than 20 days.
Doctor :   With an improved diet; good and timely sleep; relaxation techniques and physical exercises
Doctor :   symptoms of withdrawl recover faster.
Doctor :   Very rarely, readministeration of the medication and further gradual withdrawl is needed.
Doctor :   Hence you need not worry again.
Doctor :   Have you followed?
Doctor :   Are you there?
Doctor :   Are you there?
User :   yes
Doctor :   Have you followed? Do you have any other query?
