User :   yeah, of late i am getting shock whenever i touch something (due to static electricity i believe). what could be the reason?

User :   since last week, whenever i touch metal items like my car, laptop where metal is, chairs, etc

User :   yes, but not to large extend. say covering the palm

Doctor :   Shock like sensation is medically termed as paraesthesia.
User :   ok
Doctor :   These occur due to multiple reasons.
Doctor :   I hope that the things that you are touching are fine and not electrically connected.
User :   no, they are not electrically connected

Doctor :   Then the causes for such disturbances are as follows
Doctor :   1. Neuropathy secondary to cervical problems, electrolyte disturbances, infections, vitamin and nutritional deficiencies and rarely endocrine and hormone disturbances.
Doctor :   Such symptoms do happen due to alcohol intoxication and due to certain drugs, which you report negative.
Doctor :   2, Paraesthesia symptoms do happen in somatic causes.

Doctor :   somatic causes are psychological associated with stress and anxiety.
Doctor :   From this far, without a proper physical examination and investigations, I cannot predict which among these 2 group of conditions is causing your symptoms.

Doctor :   Hence, I suggest you to see a doctor for the examination and investigations.

Doctor :   1. Improved diet in the form of plenty of fruits and vegetables
Doctor :   2, One multivitamin pill a day
Doctor :   you can use Neurobion or neurobion forte tablets(one tablet a day) if you are looking for a specific multivitamin.
Doctor :   3. Adequate and timely sleep, relaxation exercises

Doctor :   4, Exercises to strengthen hand muscles will also aid in recovery of neuropathy.

Doctor :   progress in the paraesthesia - sensation spreading above,
