Doctor :   how can i help you today ?
User :   About 1 week ago I hit the area just under my kneecap hard.
Doctor :   may i know your age ? and also how did the injury occur ?
User :   And as days apssed my foot started to get black and blue and is swollen
User :   I'm 57
Doctor :   you mean to say , u hit your knee and your feet, got swollen ?
User :   The knee has a bump and doesn't hurt too bad axcept when I apply pressure on the area

User :   Just the swelling and black and Blue

Doctor :   is the black and blue swelling only on the upper surface or also on the lower sole as well ?
User :   At this point upper surface and sides some on the toes as well

Doctor :   are u able to walk properly ?
User :   My knee is feeling a little better than like the day after I hit it. Still has the bruise though not as big as it was at first

Doctor :   It seems that the change in color could be due to synovitis and
User :   I'm just concerned as to why my foot would get swollen and black and blue
Doctor :   and the oozing of blood must have trickled via the subcutaneosus tissue into the foot
Doctor :   probably an injury of a bloood vessel , has caused blood to ooze beneath the skin
User :   I see, is that from gravity drawing it down to the lower extremity

User :   Not

Doctor :   for the mean time, i would advise you to apply ice packs to the swelling
User :   What would be the best course of action as long as it down't become painful or numb
Doctor :   also keep the foot elevated

User :   Would it be advised to see a doctor or see if it begins clearing up
Doctor :   Seeking medical opinion and getting the limb tested is better
Doctor :   no at your age, please see a doctor
User :   What test would b used
Doctor :   waiting for it to heal , may cause some troble if complications occur
Doctor :   a Xray and a doppler ultrasound

Doctor :   these tests will help to know if any vessel is torn or anything else

Doctor :   In case there is suspicion of any ligament tear, a MRI may be adviced by your doctor just to be sure
