User :   My husband has had an intestinal virus going on 3 days now. It started on Thurs. he threw up just once on Thursday but has had the diarrhea since then. He had an appt with his cardiologist for a check up on Thurs. and mentioned this to him and was told to drink lots of fluids but offered no other advice. He has taken imodium but hasn't helped. Is staying hydrated but I think he needs a prescription to stop the diarrhea. Can you help?

Doctor :   if more 6 BM he can use immodium 2mg 3-4 times a day

User :   He was only taking max 4 a day as that is what the instructions said

User :   No fever that I know but is somewhat weak

User :   No, had soup and crackers last night

User :   He has coronary heart disease, high blood pressure.

User :   No he takes Norvasc, lisinopril and lipitor

Doctor :   if the diarrhoea does not get better after 48 hrs, and remain same or gets worse, u can get antibitics
Doctor :   Make sure he is drinking enough
Doctor :   Make sure he is not dehydrated
User :   Would you prescribe them?
