User :   Hi, I'm 26 and am around 10 wks pregnant. I came off micro-30 in oct 2010 and since have seriou bout of lightheaded dizzy, heart beating loud, I've lost weight, not sure If this is coming off the pill. The doctor said it was anxiety and put me on citalopram which wasn't for me. Since 3 times before pregnancy hit I had 3 bad episodes where my BP was 160 over something. My BP has been fine recently. I'm not stressed and basic blood test are fine. I'm worried about being lightheaded as I feel like my legs are going to go and I'm also very pale at the moment. I had the flu jab last week. Everyone says this is down to pregnancy but has been going on for about 6 months now. I've had an eye test which showed no pressure, obv high BP but I'm sure this is not to anxiety as it I can be sitting quite happy and my heart starts beating hard and fast like I've been running! And when standing I get very dizzy. I have a light buzzing in my ears I do also smoke heavily and waiting for a referral for pregnancy reasons to stop. I'm really worried and it's starting to ruin my everyday life! Doctor won't give me anything!
Doctor :   hello
User :   Hello
Doctor :   may i know your age please ?
User :   I'm 26
Doctor :   and right now your present symptoms are lightheartedness ?
Doctor :   have you stopped smoking >
User :   Today my colour has drained from my face, I feel shaky and legs feel weak and I have a light buzzing in my head and my heart sounds loud. I had the flu jab on Thursday and felt a little I'll from Sunday and my left ear is bunnged up.
Doctor :   any fever ?
Doctor :   and when was your last blood check up ?
User :   Not stopped yet, I'm waiting for a referral as I'm heavy and I was a heavy drinker before pregnancy which I have given up now
Doctor :   was the Hemoglobin level ok ?
User :   I feel hit but my temp is normal, had blood tests two weeks ago, standard pregnancy and everything looked fine although the nurse said that blood sugar was not checked
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   well as far as your first query, the stopping of pill wont be causing the symptoms for so long
Doctor :   what all medications are you taking ?
User :   None at the moment, the citalopram made me feel 100 times worse and I stopped about 3 days after taking them as I am already a mum and could not concentrate on them
Doctor :   and your blood pressure is on the higher side
Doctor :   well there are few conditions that can be causing, a normal anxiety will not cause the typical symptoms that you are saying , since you also have some buzzing sensation in the ear, the root cause may be there
Doctor :   ear infection or ear problems are known to cause bouts of dizziness
User :   Since being checked with pregnancy, it's been low! The midwife said this is the case with the first tri but before this I was high 3 times on checking. The doctor wanted to monitor for a while before giving me medication but then I got pregnant! High BP runs In my family and all take medication. I hav had bouts of seeing gold spots when moving quickly which a family member suggested High BP
Doctor :   was a EKG done ?
User :   The ear infect has only been the last few days, the lightheaded has been going on for months was small episodes at first now longer and can run all day
User :   No I've not had an EKG
Doctor :   well an EKG is must
Doctor :   esp you are complaining of palpitations
User :   I think my doctor feels I'm a hibercondriac as I ask for these things but he puts it down to mild depression and anxiety
Doctor :   that will help us to rule out the heart involvement and is the most common and basic test that should have been done
User :   Yes my heart beats hard I can feel it in my back and it happens for no reason
Doctor :   you do need a EKG also i my opinion you need to see a ENT doc for the buzzing and lightheartedness,\
User :   Do I just ask for these
Doctor :   its important thats these tests are done
Doctor :   yes you can
Doctor :   you will not be refused as palpitations warrants and EKG
User :   Excellent I book another appointment with him! My physical symptoms are starting to upset me now and I want to feel normal again
Doctor :   dont worry you will be fine soon
Doctor :   take care of your self and you will be good in no time
