User :   I was sleeping and rose suddenly out of bed to check on my daughter when my neck POPPED loudly 3 times on the right side. Pain was immediate. Now I can't move my neck down or to the right at all without SEVERE pain. Also cannot move ear to shoulder, but can move shoulder to ear on that side. WHAT DID I DO? I'm leaving for Atlanta in 2 hours and I am miserable!
Doctor :   Hi

User :   Anything I can do for pain relief? I've had multiple sports injuries including blowing out 2 ACLs, and this is killing me.
Doctor :   1. Local heat application in the form of bagging, heat fomentation on the affected area will help in reducing the pain and inflammation
Doctor :   2. Use local antiinflammatory creams/ointment or sprays.
Doctor :   You can avail volini (diclofenac) spray/creams and apply them locally at the affected regions.
Doctor :   use them thrice a day
User :   Would it help to get a massage?
Doctor :   3. You can also use oral antiinflammatory medications such as IBUPROFEN 400mg twice a day after food for the next 3 days.
Doctor :   Avoid spicy food while on this medication.
Doctor :   Massaging on an acutely inflammed region can increase the pain.
Doctor :   I would suggest you these antiinflammatory measures first.
Doctor :   Massaging can be tried once inflammation reduces.
User :   Ok thank you very much.
Doctor :   Instead good rest, use of soft pillow for the neck will be a better option
