User :   hello Dr
Doctor :   hi
Doctor :   Dr. XXXXXXXX here
User :   I have few queries regarding HIV
Doctor :   please proceed with your health query
User :   Is ECLIA test at 86 days conclusive if it is negative
Doctor :   yes it is conclusive
User :   it is it same as ELISA
Doctor :   ECLIA is a newer technique developed
User :   so mean 86 days negative is conclusive
User :   do antidepressants like Prodep and Oliment have any effect on HIV tests or antibodies
User :   I read some where (I forgot where) that use of antidepressants may prolong the window period
Doctor :   they can delay the antibody response
Doctor :   but they do not stop antibodies being produced
Doctor :   so the test done will be able to detect antibodies
User :   is ECLIA as reliable as ELISA
Doctor :   yes is is a reliable test
User :   i got ELISA (RAPID) and ECLIA (p24antigen + HIV antibodies) test done
User :   which was negative at 86 day mark
User :   do i need to go for a repeat test
Doctor :   ok. both mean that you do not have the antibodies, this is due no presence of the antigen or the HIV
Doctor :   you do not need to do further tests
User :   I have some queries on PCR DNA test..............may I ask
User :   I got this test done
Doctor :   yes, please proceed
User :   the sample was collected on Thursday at a collection centre
User :   it was sent next day to the main lab
Doctor :   ok
User :   the lab ran the test 2 days later i.e. on Monday
User :   since this test checks for HIV virus itself..................HIV being fragile virus
User :   it will die in the sample
Doctor :   it does not test for the virus, it tests for the viral DNA/RNA, which will be present in sample even if the virus dies
Doctor :   moreover the sample will have preservatives added to make sure it does not go bad
Doctor :   so you do not have to worry about the efficacy of the test
User :   that test came as "not detected" at 52 day mark
Doctor :   ok. it means that you did not have HIV in your body at that time
Doctor :   is there anything else you would like to ask me?
Doctor :   are you there?
Doctor :   I have to close the window as you are not responding. Please chat with our doctors 24/7 for medical queries.
User :   hello
User :   network issue
Doctor :   hi.
Doctor :   are you back?
User :   yes
Doctor :   please proceed with your query
User :   I was just concerned about the ECLIA test as Dr. asked me to go for ELISA and my lab reort says method used as ECLIA
Doctor :   both of them are immunoflorescense tests to detect antibodies
User :   Is ECLIA equally sensitive
Doctor :   yes it is
User :   how good is ELISA (RAPID)
User :   hello dr
User :   u there?
User :   hello Dr
Doctor :   hi
Doctor :   please proceed
User :   I want to know my HIV risk
Doctor :   all the test done are good enough to detect the antibodies
Doctor :   as I see, you have ahd a detailed discussion with a doctor beforer
User :   yes
Doctor :   and the risk has been explained to you that you do not have the HIV infection
Doctor :   as evidenced by your ttest results
Doctor :   *test
Doctor :   so stop worrying about your HIV risk
Doctor :   focus on good life ahead
Doctor :   and practice safe sex measures
Doctor :   for you anxiety on the HIV status, visit a psychologist/psychiatrist and take counseling, it will help you to relax.
User :   ok
User :   just needed a second opinion..........thats why I came back
User :   how is ECLIA it as good & reliable as ELISA
Doctor :   no matter how many times you consult , based on your test results, you will have doctors suggesting you the same possibilities.
Doctor :   ECLIA and ELISA both are immunofluorosence tests to detect antibody response
User :   both are good?
Doctor :   yes
User :   what is the difference between ELISA (RAPID) and traditional ELISA
Doctor :   both detect the antibodies, one is a rapid test which gives fast results, the other one is immunofluorescence test done in a standard way
User :   my ELISA (RAPID) test says HIV-1 non reactive and HIV-2 non-reactive
Doctor :   all your tests are negative, which is more important
Doctor :   please take post test HIV counseling
Doctor :   you are more anxious than anything else and you need counseling to help you come out of it
Doctor :   schedule appointment with a HIV counseling cell for post test counseling and for a psychologist/psychiatrist for helping you relive the anxiety
Doctor :   have you followed what I have said?
User :   yes doctor
Doctor :   thanks for consulting me. bye for now.
