Doctor :   Hi
User :   hello doctor
Doctor :   how can i help you today ?
User :   Hello doctorbI have a 3 months old baby boy. His birth weight was 2.62kgs. Now he is weighing 5kgs i guess. 2 weeks back he was 4.6kgs, he is gaining 200gms every week so, i am guessing he might be now 5kgs. Is this ok as per his age?
Doctor :   that is perfect
Doctor :   he is absolutely normal
User :   ok
User :   Now for past 2 weeks, he is not sleeping properly in the night. He sleeps all the time in the mmorning. I am breastfeeding. When he will be awake in the night, every half an hr he wants milk. When I feed him, i guess its becoming overfeeding and he starts throwing out. My concern is whether my milk is sufficient for him? Since I am not doing any extra feeding, he is not sleeping properly in the night? My motherinlaw says, mother's milk will not have any protien or vitamins, so he is not getting energy and it is not filling his stomach, so he is not sleeping in the night. Is that true doctor? My doctor is very happy that I am getting enough milk and am doing breastfeeding and she has adviced me not to give any extra feeding till 6 months. My mother-in-law is insisting me to start cerelac. Please advice me doctor.
Doctor :   your mother in law is wrong
Doctor :   until the age of 4 months, there is no need for additional feeding
Doctor :   exclusive breast feeding is best
Doctor :   cerelac etc can be given after 4 months age
Doctor :   since he is gaining weight at a good rate, u need not worry
Doctor :   even after 4 months, u can continue breast feeding, as long as u want , may upto 1 and half years too
Doctor :   breast milk is the best for kids and is adequate
Doctor :   infants do cry at night
Doctor :   this is commonly due to ingestion of air that causes cramps
Doctor :   proper burping will solve the issue
User :   Morevover before he used to pass motions 5-6 times in a day. Now he is passing 3-4 days once. Is this ok? What I feel is since he is not passing motions regularly, he is throwing curd like milk many times in a day annd he has gastric problem also. He passes gas. Sometimes he gets stomach ache whenever he is not able to pass gas. So I am giving colicade 6 drops(as per doctor's advice). Please advice.
Doctor :   yeah thats fine too
Doctor :   it is common to have gastric reflux in infants
User :   in a day he throws atleast 8times, is that ok?
Doctor :   ask your doctor for a prescription of zinetac syrup
Doctor :   this will solve the issue of reflux
Doctor :   and vomiting can be stopped by it too
User :   what abt his motions doct, is that ok if he passes 3-4 days once?
Doctor :   colic aid is also ok, but he needs zinetac or zantac syrup
Doctor :   yes, thats fine
Doctor :   since he is absorbing his feeds, well, motions 3-4 times a day is good
Doctor :   i hope u have understood my advice
User :   yes doc
User :   sometimes, when i feed him 15 mins on both breasts, after half an hr again he asks, is that ok to feed him again?
Doctor :   as long as he is less than 6 months, feed him on demand
User :   ok
User :   where is ur clnoic doc
User :   sorry clinic?
Doctor :   i practice in the USA
Doctor :   New York
User :   oh ok, i though of consulting U :-)
Doctor :   that is fine
User :   just give me a min doc. iwill think of other queries
Doctor :   you can ask for Dr Anvekar, when u log in at healthcare magic
Doctor :   sure
User :   oh ok, good then i can consult u only directly
User :   Doc any idea till how long he will continue to sleep in the morning and not in the night?
Doctor :   yeah, i usually will be available from 11 am to 7 pm online,
User :   ok
Doctor :   kids not sleeping at night is usually due to a development of abnormal pattern
User :   like
Doctor :   you can wake him often at daytime , so that he is awake at daytime
Doctor :   and then he will sleep better at night time
User :   oh ok
Doctor :   if he gets good sleep during the day, he will get up during the night
User :   but doc if i try to wake him in the morning he becomes cranky and he will not drink properlly
Doctor :   THAT is fine, he will get adjusted
Doctor :   this needs proper congestion
Doctor :   i meant conditioning
Doctor :   Are u there ?
User :   yes
User :   doc any advice for my food?
User :   what should i eat and not eat?
Doctor :   eat enough proteins, eggs, and anything that you like
Doctor :   there is nothing that is restricted when u are pregnant and lactating
Doctor :   except avoid more spicy foods
User :   ok
User :   whenevr i eat mixtures and food like potato or any gassy products he starts passing gas
Doctor :   that is a wrong interpretation
Doctor :   he swallows gas when he drinks milk
Doctor :   so that gas is removed as flatus
User :   oh ok
User :   i can eat all types of fruits na doctor?
Doctor :   the milk does not contain any gas and most of it is not direclly taken from the stomach
Doctor :   yes, any fruit is fine
User :   grapes also
Doctor :   no restrictions
Doctor :   yeha
User :   ok
Doctor :   yeah
User :   so my son is healthy na doc, no need to worry right?
Doctor :   there is nothing to worry about
Doctor :   he is absolutely fine
User :   ok, thats all doc. Next I will consult u only directly
Doctor :   you need not worry too much

Doctor :   you are most welcome
User :   Ok bye doctor
Doctor :   thanks for consulting me here
Doctor :   take care and bye for now
User :   welcome
User :   bye
Doctor :   have a good evening
Doctor :   bye
