User :   I've been on my period for 19 days now. A doctors appointment 4 days ago
included a full female exam, and I had blood drawn. The test results said I am
not pregnant, nor am I anemic. She did however note that my uterus seemed a
little soft? I have always had very regular cycles, and flow usually lasts 4-5
days. I'm very fatigued, and moody.
The physician suggested birth control, but I had a very negative experience when
I was on it for 6 months almost 2 years ago. (ridiculous mood swings, and uncontrollable crying. Started out on Aleese?! and cant remember what we switched to, eventually stopped and returned to normal) As an alternative she suggested 800mg of ibuprofen 3X daily for 5 days, and two herbal supplements - citrus
bioflavinoids and Quercetin.
The flow is not slowing down, and I'm quite worried about my reproductive
health. I'm 21 years old, and have only ever had one sexual partner. We practice
100% condom use, as we know hormonal pills are NOT an option for me. I plan to
call my physician again Monday because the last two days I've had pains in the
mid-afternoon that feel higher and harsher than normal menstral cramping. Any
suggestions, or other symptoms I should be alert for? Thank you!

User :   since wednesday, so this is my 4th day on ibuprofen and supplements
Doctor :   One of the best methods to control irregular bleeding is birth control pills.
User :   I want to know what is causing the bleeding
Doctor :   What did the gynecologist say the cause was?
User :   she didn't know. But I do not want to return to BirthControl pills, unless I absolutely have to. I am a different person when taking them
Doctor :   You can give try once again.
User :   What types of things cause bleeding to last this long?

User :   would you recommend an ultasound, as the physical exam revealed nothing?
Doctor :   Yes.
Doctor :   also a biopsy if required.
User :   any thing else to stop the bleeding besides hormonal birth control pills?
Doctor :   It depends on the cause.
