Doctor :   Hi
User :   Hi..
Doctor :   Dr... here
Doctor :   Plz proceed with your query
User :   My mother has a prolpased uterus. Is a hysterectomy necessary
Doctor :   May i know her age?
User :   She is 51
Doctor :   Does she have any other problem?
User :   BP which is under control with medication
Doctor :   Did you get it examined ny a gynaec?
User :   Yes, she said it was 3rd stage or something and advised a hystertomy, but said it wassnt urgent
Doctor :   The treatment of prolapse depends on the stage, if within 2nd stage it can be cured by exercises but third stage needs hysterectomy only.
User :   What are the dangers of not having it done
Doctor :   It can lead to rectal problems that is later causes problems in defecation.
User :   Thanks for the advice, doctor
Doctor :   Also the uterus may totally come out and also cause problems in walking and urinating.
Doctor :   Is there anything else i can help you with?
User :   By doing a hysterectomy before menopause, will it not cause all the problems associated with menopause to come on earlier
Doctor :   See hysterectomy is removal of the uterus and would not lead to much problems.
User :   Thank you
Doctor :   This operation is not urgent but yes has to be done.
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me, bye for now
