User :   i had a bad uti in july and ever since my urethras hurt. it only hurts to pee in the morning but after that the urethra hurts AFTER i pee all day.sometimes i get burning in the clitoral area and in the vagina too. ive had antibiotics (was givin two lots even with a negative urine sample) stuff for thurush ( depite swab being negative) swabs taken for stds, all negative and an ultrasound scan. i was scheduled in to have a cytoscopy two weeks ago but when i saw the surgeon before hand he decided not to do it becuse he thought i was too young to have any bladder problems!! my gp was not happy. i started having right sided pain abouve my hip about a month ago so they though all this trouble was from kidney stones but a scan showed none, i keep getting told to drink and take paracetamol but ive been doing this for nearly 6 months. some days the pains unberable. i saw a new gp who mentioned ic but i dont have uregncy nor do i pee a lot through the day i have been given oxybutinin for that but it hasbt worked ( this is my 2nd week on it now) they have now put me on the pill now as they now think it could be endometreosis (during my period i get pain on my pubic bone, legs, back and bladder) i also have this pulling bulging feeling on and off, not everyday, in my vagina but no ones said anything about it being anything. i wish i could get a definitave answer!!!!! can you help? as i write this my sides sore, i feel like i need to pee (despite just being to the toilet), and my urethra really hurts.
Doctor :   Hi
User :   hi
Doctor :   Let me read the query
User :   im new to this hope you can be some help
Doctor :   Are your periods regular ?
User :   they tend to be yes but the length of them varies
Doctor :   Can you please describe the abdominal pain the duration of each episode and frequency?

Doctor :   What is your age and occupation?
User :   its not so much abdomanal pain as pain in my bladder which stops after i pee. the pain in my right side comes and goes which ive had for 5 weeks no and it cna radaiate to my back. it comes and foes all day thn ill have nithing for dyas. the urethral and vaginal burnings the worst. im 28 and a sfatt nurse
User :   and it feels sharp like i have to hlo my breath.. the bladder pain during my period but the side pain feel like its a pulling feeling
Doctor :   Was it a CT scan done to rule out the stones?
User :   yes no stones
User :   that they could see..
Doctor :   or Ultrasound scan?
Doctor :   CT scan?
User :   abo ultrasound
User :   would stones cause urethral burning all day?
Doctor :   No
Doctor :   The other important thing is to rule out Endometriosis
User :   thats what i thought
User :   and does that cause burning even without my period?
Doctor :   yes
Doctor :   The next step that I would think of is DPL, ( Diagnostic Peritoneal Laparoscopy)
Doctor :   for Endometriosis diagnosis
User :   ah.. so maybe they are heading in the right direction with it then. the laps not been mentioned as they want to see if the pill stops the pain.. would endo tissue not have shown up on the scan though? do you think thats where my side pains coming from too, and does it make you feel like you have to pee even after youve been or the bulging feeling i get on and off in my vagina?
Doctor :   Endo tissue may not be found on Scan
Doctor :   Side pains can be from Endometriosis
Doctor :   If the endometriotic tissues spreads to the urinary tissues, then it can make you pee and hurt when you pee
User :   also why would these symptoms only have shopwn up after that bad uti and not before, although ive had the bad pubic bone pain and pains in my legs with my periods for a few years. this urethral pains just since the uti and its whats bothering me the most as it really gets me down. but it hurts even after i stop peeing for most of the day?
Doctor :   I need some time to answer rest of your questions
Doctor :   Let me read this
Doctor :   If it were Endometriosis, there is no reason or cause
User :   sorry my money ran out! everything ive read says i should only feel the urethral symptoms during my period but its all month.. ofh can i add 4-5 days before my period its really bad
User :   would it also cause vaginal burning and general vulval discomfort on and off throught the month too?
User :   oh and also my last urine sample contained some red cells and epitheleial cells +++
User :   any one there?
User :   well this is a bit of a waste of money.. £8 and no ones answered!
