User :   Hi i went to the doctors 2 days ago because of my indegestion feelings/loss of appetite and weight. I went to 2 doctors. They gave me an acid blocker. I have been feeling better and eating better/ i think my weight is going up but one thing i am concerened about is i have this small itch i dont know if its doesnt last all day and i barely have the need to itch it. Also it feels like some of the muscles on my left armpit are swollen. Ive had my neck lymph nodes checked and same with my shoulder. However i am concerened with lymphoma? does my itch match with the itch of lymphoma or is it more severe? and could i still have lymphoma if im getting better?
Doctor :   Hi,
User :   Hello =)
Doctor :   Let me read your post
User :   ok
Doctor :   May i know which areas areas are affected with itch ?
User :   bottom of chin and back mostly sometimes face
User :   Most of the times its only there for a second and i dont have to itch it. but i read that lymphoma one of the symptoms is itch
User :   and sometimes its there becasue im thinknig about it i dont know if that would contribute too
Doctor :   Do you see your skin dry ? ( Winter )
User :   no but that could be a possiblity my friend was complaining about his nose bleeds becasue of the dry weather
Doctor :   And do you see any kind of rahese over the body
Doctor :   ?
Doctor :   Rashes*
User :   not that i can see
Doctor :   ok, and can you explain in bit detail about the arm pit ?
User :   well one feels like its bigger...i had to pinch it to feel it but it feels like one of the back strands of muscle is a little bigger
Doctor :   Do you feel any nodular slippery swelling ?
User :   one second let me check
User :   i cant tell. its just apart of the line that is from the armpit to wing
User :   could it be apart of my stomach infection?
Doctor :   yes, but very rarely the axillary lymph nodes swell due to stomach infection
User :   ok should i beworried about lymphoma..? i had my stomach checked (how i was diagnosed with stomach infection) and neck/shoulder and they all checked out fine
Doctor :   no, i do not consider Lymphoma being the chance here
User :   neither did the first doctor i talked to because i was concerned about it
Doctor :   the swelling you feeling could be a subcutaneous fat nodule
User :   they said if any of my neck nodes were swollen then they would be worried
Doctor :   no , the symptoms or the signs do not give any suspection about lymphoma
Doctor :   it needs more than 2 to 3 groups of lymph nodes in the body to be swollen to get a doubt of lymphoma
User :   sorry about that recharging
Doctor :   and commonly the lymphnode involvement in lymphoma will be generalized
User :   ok
User :   right now all i can feel is that armpit
Doctor :   neck nodes are the first ones to be noticed
User :   and im guessing if there was anything wrong with stomach the doctor wouldve felt it
Doctor :   yes,
User :   yup my doctor checked out my neck said they couldt find anything at all wrong
Doctor :   any stomach growths can be made out on examination in about 60 % cases
User :   ok
User :   would i be having more symptoms then itching if it was lymphoma?
Doctor :   and only a scan can rule out abdominal ( stomach ) lymphnodes
Doctor :   yes, itching with erythematic rahes is typical to lymphoma , and its seen in last stages
Doctor :   and the itch will be severe
User :   ok
User :   so what i have could be of myown doing by thinking about it?
Doctor :   i am sure of that
Doctor :   need not worry
User :   i just didnt know if i should be concerned i mean i am getting better with the acid blocker i was given
Doctor :   one physical examination by a trained GP is enough to get clues about lymphoma if you had
Doctor :   continue the acid blockers , have food at regular times
User :   the thing i didnt know if connected was i was having body aches and the doctor said that was typical with an acid build up
Doctor :   and also have good protein food , like egg , pulses , etc
Doctor :   yes , he is right
User :   ok so i shouldnt be concerened about my left armpit and the itches?
Doctor :   yes, need not worry
Doctor :   apply MOIZEN lotion to the itch , it will bring it down
User :   ok. i just didnt know i mean i only saw the word itch i didnt know if it mean small severe or what
User :   i looked at the symptoms i have not had any night sweats or fever
User :   when i go to sleep i have been sleeping through the night no problem
Doctor :   and that do not happen in lymphoma
Doctor :   fever is typical . its "step ladder" type
User :   so if i dont have a fever i shouldnt be concerend? i havnt gotten past 98.3 yet
Doctor :   yes, fever is one of the typical symptom with lymphoma
User :   jeeez i kinda feel silly now for being so concerened...i mean i went to 2 doctors and expressed to one of them my concerns about it and that one said she doubts i do
User :   but i didnt tell her about the itching because i didnt know if it connecte
Doctor :   no, i do not have even a minor clue for lymphoma
User :   this is good =) i mean i also heard that survival rate for lymphoma is pretty good though
Doctor :   yes, there is good treatment advance in Chemo in recent days
User :   so most cancers are treatable now?
User :   or better worded survival rate has gone up?
Doctor :   most of them
Doctor :   that can be a right way to say
User :   also i have a question why do they only have 5 year survival rate?
User :   nothing past 5 years
Doctor :   its based on study
User :   so after 5 years is the person considered cured?
Doctor :   no , it doesn't mean that
User :   oh
Doctor :   survival rate mean the average life one can have after being diagnosed of cancer
User :   oh ookkkk
User :   thank you for the help i was concerned about now not as much.
Doctor :   you are welcome ,
User :   it was just the itchiness
User :   and the armpit
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me , kindly provide your feedback
Doctor :   do not worry , apply MOIZEN for the itch and stop feeling the armpit
User :   ok will o
User :   do
Doctor :   Bye for now
Doctor :   Take care
User :   bye =)
User :   you too
