I have an ear infection, and have been on antibiotics since thursday. When I went to the doctor she also pulled out a lot of wax from that ear. My concern is three days later I have quite an ear ache in that ear. Is this normal?
Doctor :   Hi,
Doctor :   dr raju here
User :   Hello
Doctor :   yes, it can be expected
Doctor :   since the ear wax has been removed the inner skin lining would have been expose raw leading to pain
User :   It was quite painful when she pulled it out too. I have had my wax removed before and it has never hurt days later
User :   that makes sense being that the skin was irritated from an infection already
Doctor :   yes, i suspect an abrasion due to wax removal
Doctor :   yes, you are right
User :   yes she said there was a little blood and gave me ciprodex drops for that
Doctor :   this clears the doubt
Doctor :   continue Ciprodex
User :   I also have had surgery in that ear numerous times and have an artificial ear drum so I freak out a little bit when it comes to that ear
Doctor :   and do not insert any thing like bud into the ear now
User :   I never put anything in that ear
Doctor :   ok, if the pain continues for more than 5 to6 days visit the specialist
User :   ok thank you
Doctor :   if pain is more take a tab of Ibuprofen 400mg
Doctor :   not more than one per day
Doctor :   after food
User :   I did tylenol I am allergic to nsaids
Doctor :   thats fine
User :   thank you
Doctor :   you are welcome
Doctor :   thanks for cosunlting me , kindly provide your feedback
