Doctor :   Hi,
User :   Hi, not sure you got my question already... its my first time here
User :   my 11 weeks old baby woke up with a blood stain next to her iris
Doctor :   No, i do not see your post
User :   it doesn´t seem to bother her and it is only small, should I worry?
Doctor :   is it bright red in color ?
User :   I think so, yesterday it seemed fresh blood, today it may have faded a bit but it is difficult to see because it is under her eye lid
Doctor :   need not worry , it subcunjunctival bleed
Doctor :   and not serious
Doctor :   the reason for its occurrence would be a minor trauma like finger nail or spontaneous due to decreased clotting factors in blood , which can be normally expected in newborns
User :   I thought it may be this -read about it- but her grandparents are a little over protective and wanted me to have it checked out, I am not in my country and it would cost me 50 Eur for a pediatrician visit. Thanks, good night.
Doctor :   its self limiting
Doctor :   and need no medication
Doctor :   and only if its increasing in size rapidly , its then you may have to visit the pediatrician
Doctor :   Are you there ?
Doctor :   Is there anything i can help you with ?
Doctor :   I have to close the window as you are not responding. Please chat with our doctors 24/7 for medical queries.
