User :   I'm must better now, but still have swollen lymph nodes in my neck
User :   I tested negative for strep throat and mono
Doctor :   ok,
User :   I was sick in bed for about 5 days
User :   I am feeling fine now except for the swollen nodes, which are slowly shrinking
User :   I'm unsure about whether I'm contagious
User :   Can I resume normal contact with my spouse (including sex) and my son?
User :   I'm worried about giving them this sickness
User :   that's it
Doctor :   what is suspect in you based on your history would be a viral infection ,
User :   Oh, yes, the sickness did not respond to antibiotics
Doctor :   and such viral infections will be contagious only during active symptom period , mostly first 3 days of the illness
Doctor :   yes, viral fevers do not respond to antibacterials
User :   the enlarged nodes probably don't indicate an active, contagious condition?
Doctor :   and your contacts are safe now
User :   any suggestions about what could have cause this?
Doctor :   no, lymph nodes indicate the history of activeness in the immune system o fight the infection
Doctor :   they will regress in size on their own
Doctor :   need no treatment and surely not contagious
User :   OK, it's now been over a week since the fever subsided. I am sleeping a bit more now, but don't feel tiredness during the day
Doctor :   its ok
User :   OK, that's good news
User :   anything I should watch out for?
Doctor :   watch for the symptoms to reappear
