User:can u help me?
Doctor:Worm infestation rarely causes any problem during pregnancy.
Doctor:The risks associated with using deworming agents during pregnancy is far higher than the benefits you would get from that.
Doctor:Hence I agree with your gynecologist.
User:any aother solution for this
Doctor:You can take the deworming agent if you develop symptoms of worm infestation.
User:cause its irritating
User:i can take???
Doctor:If there are associated symptoms, I would suggest you to get it checked by your doctor.
User:any home remedy,,,can you suggest?
Doctor:If the irritation is indeed due to worm (as proved by stool test and other relevant test) then your doctor will permit the use of the drugs.
User:but those drugs will be harmful for my child?
Doctor: XXXXXXX the use of medications during pregnancy is governed by risk benefit ratio and the class of medication.
Doctor:Antihelminthic drugs such as mebendazole are class C drugs meaning it has cause some side effects in animals.
Doctor:But no such studies have been done in human to know the risk involved.
Doctor:Therefore such drugs are advised only when there is real need,
Doctor:in your case, if there is significant worm infestation such as positive stool test and low hemoglobin
Doctor:we can use the drugs.
Doctor:Therefore I suggested you to inform your gynecologist about your symptos.
Doctor:She can get the test done and see how severe the infestation is (if at all you have them).
Doctor:If the medicines are really necessary, then you may use it.
User:actualy i was so used to mebex ( the med), never thought that this prob will suffocate me like this
User:let me know if you are aware of any home remedy for the same
Doctor:As far as home remedies are concerned, there are no scientifically proven remedies. But some remedies such as high fibre content products such as ginger, carrot and coconut have been used.
Doctor:You may try them.
User:ok,,,i need to rush for a meeting.
User:will talk later
Doctor:Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor:Bye for now.
