Doctor:How can I help you?
User:gud afternoon doc
Doctor:Good afternoon
User:im XXXXXXX ,25 years,and i'm 6 months pregnent now
User:i had my scan in the 5 th month and there was an obsevation XXXXXXX echogenic focus" in the left ventricle seen
User:they also will not lead to any heart risk..however i jus wanted to recheck on the same
User:wat does this exactly mean
Doctor:Echogenic focus in the left ventricle alone has less clinical significance, however in association with other parameters, it cannot be neglected.
Doctor:I would like to know if you have discussed this scan report with your gynecologist?
Doctor:And if any other tests like triple marker were done?
User:the other reports are all fine
User:no she dint ask for any other test
Doctor:Can you confirm if the scan was regular antenatal scan or your heart echocardiogram?
Doctor:*regular pregnancy scan?
User:it was anomoly scan
User:not normal
Doctor:Let me brief you.
Doctor:Echogenic focus in anomoly scan can be normal like what your doctor said, but in a small group of patient,
Doctor:this can mean a genetic abnormality which needs to be cross checked.
Doctor:Discuss further with your gynecologist about repeating the ultrasound scan and whether or not you require further testing like triple serum marker/karyotyping.
Doctor:If I were to be treating you, I would suggest these investigation before ruling out the echogenic focus as normal.
User:in which month would you suggest these tests
Doctor:All these test have better significance and diagnostic use when done during early pregnancy.
Doctor:Perhaps as you are in the 6th month, the doctor may not have pressed for this test.
User:i got the same done in the 3rd month also
Doctor:Ok and was the echogenicity noted on the 3rd month too?
User:shall i go for the same scan again or only the new tests will do..or both scan and test should be done
Doctor:Repeating the scan is not required.
Doctor:But since whether or not you require further test is slightly difficult for me to say,
Doctor:as my expertise are limited.
Doctor:i suggest you to post a query on ask a doctor.
Doctor:I shall get your query addressed by a gynecologist
Doctor:for a more specific and personalised answer.
Doctor:Is it fine?
User:can i call the doc u r referrring to and talk?
Doctor:I don't think they are available to you over a phone call.
Doctor:You may post the query to them
Doctor:and I shall get a gynecologist to answer your query.
Doctor:Is there any other query?
User:no thank you
Doctor:Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor:Bye for now.
