User :   I am 26 weeks pregnant and have marginal previa with no symptoms. What are the stats (or chances) of the placenta migrating safely up for normal delivery. I have had 5 children previousely (including twins) all natural-vaginal. The last pregnancy was marginal previa for a while as well, but no problems and I don't remember which week it was found to be ok before delivery. It would really be sad to have a c-sec for me at this point. Besides, I am a nurse and I have seen them :(
Doctor :   Let me read it
Doctor :   Hi
User :   Hello
Doctor :   Yes
Doctor :   The fact that you have already had such a history
Doctor :   & you have delivered normally,
Doctor :   improves your chances of having the same being repeated yet again
User :   good ...I wasn't a nurse when I delivered last so I did not pay attention to the week it moved up, but I think it was after 30 weeks
Doctor :   If you are looking for the exact stats
User :   at what point do you suggest another us and that I should be worried?
Doctor :   thats a difficult to predict, as you know yourself being in this field
Doctor :   that nothing in medicine can be predicted exactly
User :   the ultrasound doc said come back at 30 and that should be the time it should have moved, however, that seems early to me
Doctor :   Just continue the follow ups routinely
User :   Is there any sleep positions which help? Any other things I can do?
Doctor :   because even if you get to know that the the placenta has not receded from the os, there is nothing any Doc could do to rectify the problem
User :   true
User :   My pap and pelvic exam last month looked great....she said like someone who had not had children so I guess I will remain optimistic
Doctor :   It would only keep you tensed
Doctor :   Anyway, I am not aware of any positions or precautions that
User :   sleeping on the left side is the best correct?
Doctor :   could help rectify
User :   I feel uncomfortable on one side all night you know if that is a problem in general for baby?
Doctor :   Has your obstetrician told you to adopt a particular side while lieing?
User :   Also, one more question, how bad is my working? I plan on going up until sept 5...due on sept 20 but will likely deliver on 13th if like other ones
User :   no I have just read that along the way
Doctor :   Do follow what you have read, but leniently, dont be too strict about it
User :   ok sounds good
Doctor :   Working depends upon the type of ones work
User :   I am an RN....90% full time
Doctor :   Decide that based on factors like- distance to work place, workload, work tensions etc..
User :   it is lightening
User :   is being on feet bad for previa?
