User :   I fell down from my bike on April 11 and was diagnosed with ankle ligament tear on my left leg.I was put on bandage for first one week(Bandage normally used for fractures).. and was given some calcium tablets & pain killers. Then i was put with small bandage(rose in colour normally worn by sports people) & was advised not to walk for two weeks. On April 30, i went again to the Dr who told me that i can walk from that day.I had no pains by that time. But, when i tried to walk i had pain. So, i consulted another ortho specialist who took an x-ray and gave me an oil which was very good. Now, i am able to walk with almost no pain. The doctor also told me i can go to office.
Now, i have the following doubts: 1. How long will it take for complete recovery of ligament tear?
2. Any exercise required? (I was not told of any)
3. Can i walk & stand as usual.. (If not, how long can i walk and i stand)..??
4. After how many days can i start riding bikes??
5. Any other precautions..
Please advise

Doctor :   Ligament injury recovery depends on the extent of tear
Doctor :   It can be from 4 to 12 weeks
Doctor :   2nd query
Doctor :   Once the ligament tear is healed, You can start mild exercise to loosen the joint
Doctor :   Once the ligament is healed properly you can get back to normal life style
Doctor :   That was for the 3rd query
User :   Ok. so for next one month, i have to be very careful.. Is it??
Doctor :   Yes
User :   So how long can i walk and stand??
Doctor :   Did the doctor say any thing about the degree of ligament tear
Doctor :   ?
User :   No..but he told nothing to worry..
Doctor :   Ok
Doctor :   Then i assume it is a mild degree tear
User :   Ok
Doctor :   So how long can i walk and stand?

User :   meaning should not stand for long time.. is it??
Doctor :   At least it you stop experience pain
User :   Now i dont feel any pain
User :   Ok doctor then.. going by your above words.. i can assume that
User :   complete recovery is possible only after 2.5 months
Doctor :   You have to wait it heal well
Doctor :   Yes
User :   to 3 months..
User :   You have to wait ... ?? cant get you..
User :   are you saying that now i should not go to office??
Doctor :   It might take more than 3 months for full recovery
User :   Ohh.. my God.. :(
Doctor :   If the ligament is not completely healed
