User :   I had a minor head trauma today: Getting out of my car, I hit the top of my head on a metal air duct (not a flat surface, but a vertical "fin"). No loss of consciousness, no bleeding, but now have localized swelling, "stuffiness" feeling, and some other symptoms. Would like to discuss...
Doctor :   hi
Doctor :   Dr. XXXXXXXX here. let me read what you have typed
User :   ok, let me know when you are ready.
Doctor :   please proceed with describing your symptoms
User :   ok - so two symptoms I have now are a slight feeling of pressure in my head, similar to a sinus infection type of "stuffiness"
User :   the 2nd symptom is
User :   slight blurry vision when looking at things on a white background, such as a computer screen
User :   the blurry vision seems to be very mild, and goes on and off
User :   The trauma was about 6 hours ago
Doctor :   is there nausea or vomiting sensation present?
User :   no nausea or vomiting. I am also fine mentally - no confusion, etc..
User :   Wondering if I should just wait to see if it gets better or been seen by a doctor here?
Doctor :   since there are no warning head injury symptoms
Doctor :   start with ice pack and cold compressions
Doctor :   2) do not take anything by mouth till 24 hours is over
Doctor :   3) watch for developing symptoms like bleeding from nose, ear or throat, blurring of vision (apart from looking at computer screen), nausea, vomiting
Doctor :   3) if any of these symptoms start developing, report to ER immediately, since it will mean that serious injury has occurred.
Doctor :   4) inform your family doctor/physician and be in constant contact with him
Doctor :   5) do not be alone, someone should be there with you, as disorientation wil the first symptom to suggest seroius issues
Doctor :   6) a CT scan is required in such cases immediately to see the extent of injury and damage along with immediate start of treatment
Doctor :   have you followed what I have said?
User :   yes, I have
User :   Assuming this is just minor trauma without any serious injury, should I expect the pressure and slight blurry vision to go away within a day or so?
Doctor :   is there anything else i can help you?
Doctor :   if you do not have these above said symptoms for next 24 hours, there is nothing to worry
Doctor :   but, if your blurred vision gets worse, report to ER immediately.
User :   ok, excellent. One last thing -- this is my first time using this service. Are you a practicing MD in the USA?
Doctor :   I am a practicing physician in Bangalore.
User :   Ok, cool. Thank you for your help!
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me. Bye for now. Please chat with our doctors 24/7 for medical queries. Please refer your friends to our service.
User :   thank you
