Doctor:Thyroid function tests
Doctor:this is done to check if she has AIDs or hepatitis. It is routine test. done ,
User:Any tests that I have to do...We have tested for thallessmia and are safe from that point
Doctor:It is compulsory, also without doing this no doctor will see a case

Doctor:it is routinely done for every patient who goes for surgery or deliveries
User:Right but we are yet to conceive? I am asking you any pre-tests we need to do even before we start to plan/try to conceive...
Doctor:Yes, these tests will be done when you conceive or preconceive, the first time you visit a doctor
User:Any tests that i need to go through?
User:while i got what my wife has to go through
Doctor:once you visit a gynaecologist she will give a list of tests to be done
Doctor:Do you know your blood group
Doctor:that will be done for you
Doctor:what is it, and your wifes
User:mine is b- and hers is o-
Doctor:ok, she will also need to take folic acid tablets 3 months before conceiving
Doctor:this is to prevent any neurological problems
Doctor:so if she is planning 3 months later she should start from today
Doctor:also better to visit gynaec 3 months earlier for complete examination
Doctor:and blood test,so if any problem it can be corrected before conceiving
Doctor:some ladies have high or low thyroid levels
Doctor:so that again can cause problems
Doctor:so better to get examined
User:thanks of my friends has an unrelated question
Doctor:also she should eat iron and calcium XXXXXXX food
Doctor:yes , tell me
User:Wanted to know what are the symptoms for HIV
User:how do you know if a person has HIV or not...
Doctor:you can never make out if any one has by looking at him, because he will look healthy. Also the symptoms of AIDS will be loss of weight, diarrohea,
Doctor:this loss of weight will be sudden within 3 months,
Doctor:unexplained diarrohea
Doctor:also many skin related infections which you might not know, also they will be susceptible to TB, pulmonary infections
User:while i know that, is wieght loss the only common symptom? or are there more?
User:and how quickly they occur once you have got the virus
Enlarged lymph nodes in the neck and groin area
Doctor:this will be seen within a few months
Doctor:like 2 to 3 months
User:are these symptoms that are together? or even one could highlight the same.
Doctor:any one can be seen, but prominently lymph nodes enalrgement
Doctor:Sores of the mouth, anus, or genitals
Pneumonia,Red, brown, pink, or purplish blotches on or under the skin or inside the mouth, nose, or eyelids
User:and what happens after the 2-3 months once the symptoms have been seen
Doctor:these are some later effects
Doctor:that are seen
Doctor:once the patient has rec curing fever or diarrhea he will see a doctor, then when tests are done
Doctor:it will be diagnosed
Doctor:if treatment is started , it can be prolonged to 10 yrs or so
Doctor:depending on immunity
User:So the fever that you mentioned as the primary symptom would be a recurring one that would recur very frequent in the 2-3 months or that would appear once and one would be fit after that
Doctor:it will keep recurring
Doctor:also the diarrhea and weight loss will be made out prominently
Doctor:he or she will be very weak
User:in the first two or three months...this should be the primary symptom which would result in the doctor asking for HIV?
User:ok thanks doc
User:hi doc...this is XXXXXXX here a followup question to the maternity one...

User:how does the parent blood group affect the child
Doctor:if you are positive blood grp and she is negative then there might be a condition called Erythroblastosis fetalis

User:what does this condition lead to.
