Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   How can I help you?
User :   Hello doctor. I would like to hear your opinion on my case please.
Doctor :   Yes, proceed with your query>
User :   I will paste it right now
User :   On April 15th I was involved in a sexual activity with another man. It was a compeletly safe experience except there was a slight slip where my penis was inserted in his anus very breifly on two occasions. Risky I know but according to him he is clean but I'm still planning on getting tested just incase. On April 24th i went hiking with some friends. It was a little over than an hour hike and there was no trail, so alot of muscles were used up. I have never worked out a day in my life so it was hard on me. 4 to 5 days laters after this hike I developed pain on my right knee. This pain went away on its own 2 days later but then my left knee started to hurt and this one lasted for 1 day. Since then between April 29 to Present the pain on my right Knee was on and off but very light. Only yesterday the pain was really intense I had a hard time going up and down the stairs. I went to my doctor today and she told me this is not due to ARS HIV symptoms when I asked here because the symptoms come in form of a flu symptom and a joint pain alone is not related. After examining my knee she said there is a slight swollen area but hardly noticable and it could be just an inflammation of the patella. I would like to hear your personal opinion on this. Thank you very much.
Doctor :   I can see that you have chatted with few of our doctors on these on two separate occasions. So let me explain it to you in detail.
Doctor :   Joint pain following a sexual intercourse can be part of gonorrhea.
Doctor :   However, they are usually following flu like symptoms, burning sensation while passing urine,
Doctor :   discharge per urethra.
Doctor :   These are the much more common symptoms of gonorrhea than just joint pains.
Doctor :   These symptoms are unlikely to be due to any of the sexually transmitted disease such as HIV.
Doctor :   A physical examination is essential in understanding the nature of the illness, then just the symptoms.
Doctor :   If you have already been examined and the doctor had suggested that it is probably patellar swelling, then it could be a strong possibility.
Doctor :   However, since these symtoms are part of gonococcal infection,
Doctor :   though it is unlikely, I would suggest you these measures.
User :   Very good doctor. Then I should mention to them I would like to do a gonorrhea test?
Doctor :   1. Follow the advise suggested by your doctor, that should include ample rest and hot water fomentation.
Doctor :   2. If the pain is severe, then you can use antiinflammatory drugs.
User :   She asked me to take advil too for the time being. Should I stop using Tylenol?
Doctor :   3. You can get the gonococcal test right away or
User :   I will go tomorrow and mention it to them for sure
Doctor :   you can get these tests after a week, if the above two measures fail to provide you with good relief.( this is because you do not have any other symptoms of gonococcal infection)
User :   o i see
User :   i will wait a week then
Doctor :   Advil is a better anti inflammatory drug then tylenol.
Doctor :   You can use advil with or without tylenol.
Doctor :   Preferably these medications need to be taken after your food.
Doctor :   Do you follow?
User :   Perfectly. Thank you very much.
Doctor :   Do you have any further query that I can assist you with?
User :   One more question. I did have a recent night sweat which was weird. Could this be related to anxiety?
User :   I have been worried sick for the past few days
Doctor :   Anxiety can induce sweating.\
Doctor :   However it is necessary that you check your temperature, if you have further sweating.\
Doctor :   You may have to rule the possibility of fever inducing sweating.
User :   It happened once since april 14 yesterday
Doctor :   Then it is probably more related to anxiety and not fever.
Doctor :   Do you follow?
User :   Yes thank you doctor. I will keep myself in check regarding this knee
Doctor :   Your symptoms are probably more related to the inflammation alone, these tests are basically to help alleviating the anxiety.
Doctor :   Hence try not to worry.
Doctor :   Lastly, though you presently do not have symptoms of ARS, since you've had high risk exposure,
Doctor :   it is advisable that you get the HIV tests also.
User :   Planning to do so after 12 weeks
Doctor :   Yes, and you may have to repeat it again after 3 months.
Doctor :   That should do.
Doctor :   Do you have any further query?
User :   No thank you for your help
Doctor :   Please fill the feedback form too.
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me. Bye for now. Please refer your friends to our service.
