Doctor :   wellthe treatment is a Subtotal Hysterectomy
Doctor :   and the cervix is not removed
User :   ok so if a patient has placenta percreta it doesnt mean that the placenta adhered the cervix also?
Doctor :   it depends on the extent
Doctor :   and how deep it has been
User :   if in the TVS it says bulging lower segment of the uterus with complex echoes possible for retained placenta is it possible that this can also mean accreta?
Doctor :   Accreta occurs when the placenta attaches too deep in the uterine wall but it does not penetrate the uterine muscle
Doctor :   Percreta occurs when the placenta penetrates through the entire uterine wall and attaches to another organ such as the bladder.
User :   so with that bulginf lower segment can it be possible accreta?
Doctor :   yes as Percreta is rare
Doctor :   and is a medical emergency

User :   transvaginal scan shows a bulging lower segment of the uterus w/ complex echoes which could be retained products of conception and or placenta. The uterine body is pushed up w/ a thin endometrium (0.5cm)
Doctor :   as its a condition that requires immediate surgical treatment, so if it was there they would mention it
User :   at the upper cavity. The possibility of an adherent placenta cannot be ruled out
Doctor :   i see
User :   at the last part with BOLD fonts it says asymmetrical slightly enlarge anteverted uterus
