Doctor:How can I help you?
User:Hi Dr . I have a sore throat from about 3 months.. endoscopy was done which said i have grade b oesophagitis and i have been taking Arloc d and immunace forte as medication..
User:however my sore throat still persists and i feel tired even after proper 8 hours sleep
User:from past 2 weeks my nose is also blocked and i have problems breathing
User:is the sore throat really from GERD or should i consult another doctor?
Doctor:Sorethroat can be related to GERD.
Doctor:However it can have other causes too.
Doctor:I understand you have done an endoscopy. However I think you also need to get your nose, pharynx and tonsils checked (if they were not looked into).
User:my swab and blood tests were negative for any kind of infection
Doctor:I hope you are following your doctor's advice to treat esophagitis religiously.
Doctor:If so, then you need to be investigated further.
Doctor:An ENT surgeon will be the ideal person to consult and get this resolved.
Doctor:Have you followed?
User:yes i have
Doctor:Do you have any questions?
User:could any kind of allergies cause a sore throat for so long?
Doctor:Yes, allergies commonly cause upper respiratory inflammation - nasal congestion and sorethroat are common symptoms.
Doctor:Clinical examination of these parts will reveal the signs of allergy (if any).
User:ok thank you
Doctor:Depending on these clinical signs, the steps of treatment will be decided. Therefore it would be worthwhile to see an ENT surgeon.
Doctor:Hope it is clear to you.
Doctor:Do you have any questions?
User:no thats it
User:thank you
Doctor:Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor:Bye for now.
