User :   I have a query regarding my wife ailment

User :   she is having low grade fever since her cesarean delivery on 21st August 2010
Doctor :   may i know her age?

User :   it started 5th day after delivery
User :   weakness, fatigue
User :   she is having almost complete bed rest since then
User :   no household chores or any other work

User :   First 2 weeks there were normal medicines - given after discharge from hospital
User :   including Antibiotics
User :   13.3 as of Friday

User :   1. Uterus didnot open much
User :   2. they told, baby's head was slightly big, so wouldn;t fit into uterus

User :   ya, she cares a lot abt the baby, breastfeed him regularly inspite of weakness, fever she feels

User :   rather she keeps worryng abt the baby, that her illnesss should not affect the baby

User :   she got some many blood, urine tests, cultures, xrays, USG

User :   intially Vidal was positive, ESR 55, CRP +ve, rest all other tests negative

User :   all normal/-ve test includes Xray, HB, Cultures
User :   latest, the Urine report says - 16 pus cells
User :   ESR - 32
User :   T DOT Igg +ve

User :   before that when Vidal was +ve, doctor asked for Quantiferon TB Gold test
User :   that was also -ve

Doctor :   as i said, there is nothing serious with your wife

Doctor :   probably due to minor infection, and inflamamiton, she has a fever

User :   today we consulted a doctor, he prescribed - Pruflox for urine infection
Doctor :   how is the wound of the surgery C SECTION?
User :   it looks ok, but if touhed, is painful
Doctor :   i think thats the cause of the fever
Doctor :   contact the surgeron who did the surgey for a relook

Doctor :   i would advice you to get her checked with a psychologist , and take her out ,

Doctor :   good nutrition and adeqaute counslleing and to rule outr postpartum depression is needed

Doctor :   the fatigue and anxiety is common post delivery
User :   actually the concern is pro longed fever only
Doctor :   the degres of fever is low,
Doctor :   and over time it will go away

Doctor :   give her some aspirin or crocin, which will reduce the fever and body ache as well

User :   but i read that Pruflox passes into breast milk, so not fit for lactating mothers

User :   we generally confirmd with doctor before I read on internet abt this, doctor said - no worries

Doctor :   i would advice amoxicillin instead for 3 days
Doctor :   ask her not to take pruflox
User :   oh ok. she has already taken today's dose, I hv already asked her to discontinue

User :   so amoxycillin would be ok for Urine Infection?
