Doctor :   Hi
Doctor :   Iam Dr.XXX
Doctor :   Please post your query
User :   Hi, I have a bump on my leg. I have had it for about 3 years I guess. I thought it might be a wart but I have recently had my father-in-law and sister-in-law have growths removed that were cancer and now I am getting a little concerned. It is almost perfectly round and has a rough dry outer layer.
Doctor :   Let me read your query
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   Is it growing in size shape or color?
Doctor :   Can you tell me the size approx?
User :   No it has basically been the same size, shape and color since I noticed it. It is flesh color
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   Is it only one?
User :   The size of a pencil eraser (maybe a little smaller)
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   Do you have any itching?
User :   In that spot yes. around the same time I developed a spot near my knee on my other leg but this spot is much smaller. It was shortly after my last child was born if that makes any difference
Doctor :   I feel probably it is a common wart
User :   No it does not itch or hurt. It does occassionally bleed due to being cut when I shave
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   A wart is a small rough tumor typically on hands and feet
Doctor :   Warts are caused by viral infection
Doctor :   Like human papilloma virus
User :   This is on my leg it unusual to find it on my leg
Doctor :   and are contagious by contact
Doctor :   no
Doctor :   They some time disappear after some time
User :   It hasn't spread since I got got it and I haven't gotten any others and I have had it for years.
Doctor :   and recur
Doctor :   but a few can last for years
Doctor :   ok
User :   Should I have a dr. look at it and possibly get it removed since it sometimes gets cut and bleeds when I shave my legs?
Doctor :   yes
Doctor :   There are many different treatments and procedures associated with wart removal.
Doctor :   Topical treatments like ointments can betried
User :   I tried an over the counter freeze because I was thinking it was a wart but that did not remove it
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   Can you give thename?
User :   Freeze away by Dr. XXX
Doctor :   And surgical removal can be done by electrcautery cryosurgery etc
Doctor :   ok
User :   Is it sometimes are to get rid of a wart by freezing or topical treatment
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   for definite treatment surgical methods will do
Doctor :   Freeze away cant be used at all body sites
User :   I read that on the box but it didn't say anything about not using it on my leg.
Doctor :   not on leg, i mean on mucosal areas like mouth etc
Doctor :   I feel you can try cryosurgery
User :   With surgical methods is it possible to come back and is there any connection with getting these two places after being pregnant. I never had a wart in my life before this time.
Doctor :   yes the warts are contagious by contact
Doctor :   so u may get it again if there are still infection in you
Doctor :   No connection with pregnancy
Doctor :   Some warts are transmitted sexually
Doctor :   via sexual contact, but that comes in the genital area mostly
Doctor :   Above all, wart treatments require patience. How well wart treatments work is another matter. Warts can appear and disappear without an identifiable cause and may disappear on their own without treatment.
Doctor :   R u there?
Doctor :   Did you understood what i said?
User :   Yes, I have a question though...aren't the sexually transmitted ones genital warts...I mean that doesn't have anything to do with the one I have on my leg right?
Doctor :   If freeze away is not working you meet a local dermatologist for wart removal
Doctor :   ok
Doctor :   They are caused by a different group of virus
Doctor :   Like HPV 16,HPV 18.
User :   But that is something different correct....I mean I would have then in my genital area not on my leg correct?
Doctor :   Common warts are caused by HPV 1,23 etc
Doctor :   Yes sure
Doctor :   You are probably having only a common wart
User :   Ok I understand I think. I will seek a dermatologist for removal.
Doctor :   Yes
Doctor :   Is there anything else you want to ask?
Doctor :   WWW.WWWW.WW
User :   No, thank you for your time!!
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting..Bye for now..
Doctor :   Thanks
