User:My period missed form last 3 months , today i make a ultrasound ,in report in follicular cyst of 27 mm is seen in left ovary. what is follicular cyst and what will i do..
User:kindly see my attached ultrasound report
Doctor:How were your periods before the last 3 months, were they irregular too?
User:its regular
Doctor:Let me brief you.
Doctor:Follicles develop within the ovaries as a normal process. They increase in size under the action of a hormone (FSH);
Doctor:at around 18 mm, they rupture to release ovum.
Doctor:Subsequently they change characteristics which end up with you having periods.
User:but in my report it 27 mm
Doctor:It looks like those follicles are growing in size without releasing the hormones.
Doctor:This perhaps the reason for the failed menstruation.
Doctor:Your doctor may run other tests to identify the underlying cause; besides prescribing you medications similar to birth control pills.
Doctor:I would answer this question this way -
Doctor:what you have is not harmful as those who have multiple cyst (polycystic).
Doctor:It can be rectified with medications.
Doctor:Rarely when such follicles keep growing
Doctor:and if they cause abdominal discomfort it may need surgical treatment.
Doctor:Therefore at this point of time, I do not suggest you to worry about it.
Doctor:Get back to your gynecologist. She can advise you for further evaluation or start you on pills to correct the hormonal disturbances.
Doctor:Hope I am clear to you.
Doctor:Do you have any doubts?
Doctor:Are you there?
User:l have no any child, so after how many months we can try for pregnant
Doctor:May I know since when have you been trying for pregnancy?
User:2 times misscarge in 2011 &2012
Doctor:In what term of pregnancy did you have both these miscarriages?
User:first in 10 weeks and second 8 weeks
User:in second pregnancy fetus not developed well so doc. sugges for aborsin
Doctor:Early abortions is generally due to genetic incompetance.
Doctor:The good news is that since you were able to conceive both the times, you are still fertile.
Doctor:With proper medical assistance (medical drugs), it is possible to conceive and sustain pregnancy.
Doctor:I suggest you to visit a qualified gynecologist if not an infertility specialist with all your current reports.
Doctor:He/she can run few more tests and can be able to guide you.
Doctor:Do you have any questions?
User:no thanks
Doctor:Thanks for consulting me.
Doctor:Bye for now.
