User:Hi Doctore
User:Hi Doctor
Doctor:How can I help you today?
User:My name is XXXXXXX got married in 2012 May ... Now we are trying for a baby for last 8 months
User:My wife is 26 yrs old and has PCOS
Doctor:Please proceed with your query
Doctor:Are you there?
User:Her periods are not regular ... We consulted a doctor 8 months back and she is under treatment. She is having Oosure, Diamet 500 and Blong F.. Had clomid 50 on three cycles (Not consecutive ). Her periods come regular on Clomid.
User:Please bare with me.. I am typing
User:She is not over weight, but slim. I did a semen analysis and everything looks fine. She had clomid 50 for 3 cycles , still not got pregnant. Last month doctor asked us to do Follicle analysis without clomid. She ovulated the 17th day past LMP. We had an intercourse for almost a week, but got disappointed as she got periods. Could you please suggest us the next steps to be taken on the treatment. We havent gone to an infertility specialist yet, but a gynecologist. Please advise. No blood tests taken so far except the thyroid test. Please advise me on the next level treatment and will IUI be a good option?
User:Last month during follicle analysis doctor said that she ovulated without clomid...
Doctor:That is a good thing that ovulation is happening without clomid
Doctor:I think it is too early to start her on infertility treatment like ivf etc
User:But since she ovulated and we had an intercourse, why didnt she get pregnant?
Doctor:She may go for repeated scans every month to predict the time of ovulation
Doctor:Usually, even in normal women it takes more than one menstrual cycle to get pregnant
Doctor:There is nothing to be disappointed
Doctor:It is a natural phenomenon
Doctor:Women may not become pregnant for many other reasons apart from pcos
User:We did a tube test also and that also came fine...
Doctor:PCOS actually inhibits ovulation
Doctor:Which is again a good sign
Doctor:And she is slim
Doctor:That means she still does not have metabolic syndrome too
User:Yes... She doesnt have any...
Doctor:So keep patience and keep trying
Doctor:Happiness is the best treatment sometimes
User:This time gynecologist whom we consult said , she is not sure why not my wife is getting pregnant
Doctor:Because your wifes results are normal
User:We are not disappointed and still hope that we wil have a baby very soon... I dont drink or smoke and the semen counts are also good...
User:Doctor.. One more question...
User:What is the average cost of IUI and IVF in India?
User:and is IUI an inpatient procedure?
Doctor:IUI should be very cheap
Doctor:In thousands
Doctor:Since it is not very invasive
Doctor:Not really
Doctor:You dont really need it
User:how many IUI cycles would be needed and when can we say that IUI is not working in a woman?
User:I am thinking of all possibilities... Thats why
Doctor:IUI can be tried as many times
Doctor:It is really upto you
User:Ohh Okay....
Doctor:In fact all treatments are upto you to try
User:Yes... Correct...
User:Doctor, Do you have any suggestions for us?
User:Now she is on Cloid 50 and 10 days past the first day of periods
Doctor:Since you are trying for pregnancy
Doctor:she should take vitamins especially folic acid
User:Blong F is one rite?
Doctor:and give her hygienic food and lotsnof pure drinking water to flush out medicines
User:Sure... She is having a lot of medicines nowadays
Doctor:Just try to use some method for prediction of avulation
Doctor:and have sexual intercourse during that period
User:Thanks doctor for your help ... and valuable advice....
Doctor:That must suffice for now
Doctor:Thanks for consulting
Doctor:Do you have any question here?
User:NOthing much... Thank you so much...
User:Take care.. Bye
Doctor:Take care
