User :   HI,I am concerned that the Ob/gyn who examined my peri vaginal 'lump' and told me it was an ingrowing hair/harmless cyst may have been wrong as it's still there 12 months later. It fills with non smelly pus (like a blackhead on your face) and then bursts regularly, no pain just some tightness. Seems more like a fistula to me. What do you think?
Doctor :   Hi,
Doctor :   Dr xxxxxx here
User :   Hi
Doctor :   Where exactly is the lesion ?
User :   Peri vaginal - mid way between vagina and anus
Doctor :   can you explain the appearance and the size approx of the lesion ?
User :   sometimes just a skin colored lump - less than .4mm; other times swells us with white fluid and can be 1cm across. Bursts spontaneously or with gentle pressure
Doctor :   ok , Do you feel the pain in the area ?
User :   no, just tightness and mild itchiness when it fills
User :   other times nothing
Doctor :   ok, i think it could be an abscess , forming discharging sinus
Doctor :   only you need is the right antibiotics to be put on
User :   OK - so topical antibioitics won't help - I need systemic?
Doctor :   for that i would suggest you to get a Culture sensitivity test of the pus and get the right sensitive antibiotics on you
User :   sounds like a good idea! Thanks... I'll do that... should I take a sample to the doc then? It doesn't fill every day by any means
Doctor :   no , since the pus is being formed under a closed lesion and then bursting out , something which works for inside is good choice
User :   OK - thanks for your advice. I will make an appt at the clinic and hope it's a day when there is something for them to test!! Thanks!
Doctor :   you are welcome
User :   Bibi!! :)
Doctor :   a small drop of pus or fluid seeping from the opening is enough to culture the organism
User :   Perfect... thanks...
Doctor :   Thanks for consulting me , kindly provide your feedback
User :   I def will... I feel very reassured and happier to go to the 'live' doctor now!
Doctor :   Thanks a lot
Doctor :   Bye for now
Doctor :   Take care
