User :   Can long term use of percocet in high doses affect the bodily organs such as the liver and kidneys or anything else? Also wondering, can percocet affect a young man's sperm health and ability to have children in the future? Please tell me all negative side affects. i am trying to educate someone and "google" doesn't really give me anything specific of very useful.
Doctor :   hi
Doctor :   Dr. XXXXXXXX here.
Doctor :   let me read what you have typed
Doctor :   long term use of percocet can affect the sperm counts to some extent
Doctor :   along with liver and kidney damage.
User :   like what extent and how severe?
Doctor :   what dose were you taking?
Doctor :   and for how long?
User :   2-4 tablets every few hours for weeks at a time for the past 4-5 years i think. sometimes staying off of them for a week or two.
Doctor :   ok. for what purpose do you take these?
Doctor :   were they prescribed to you?
Doctor :   if yes what is the strength of the tablets prescribed?
User :   its not me, but for chronic back pain. however, i think it has become an addiction because the person has built a tolerance and takes them all the time, even more lately. They were prescribed to the person and i think the strength varies with the pain levels when the Dr prescribes them but now they are taking triple strength. Not sure how many mgs that is.
Doctor :   ok. if the pain relief is not adequate, they should consider asking for more powerful medications than taking overdose.
User :   i dont have much time left, please just let me know negative side effects you know of?
Doctor :   the negative effects include liver, kidney damage
